Why is there Veldspar in 0.0?
This makes no sense.. who mines it? Chribba wont come to 0.0, so its not used.. at all..
and well, if you do mine veld in 0.0... well i will be nice.. but that's not smart, you can get trit from everything else under the sun.

Because Veld is the "Most common ore in the EVE Universe". No other reason than that. Veld is the lowest common denominator of all ore. It's freaking everywhere, even 0.0.

It would be nice if the belts in 0.0 were differentiated from high sec by the removal of more low end ores, and the addition of greater amounts of better ores.
Heck, even replacing the veld moons with scordite moons would go along way...you still need low ends in 0.0, and not everyone has jump bridges.

in 0.0 production often tends to break on the low end minerals, if they can't be mined there, you have to rely on mineral drops from industrial ship rats, and thats not something you can rely on very often.

- reprocess loot? - refining outpost gives enough trit.. - have somebody with the ******* to move a hauler/freighter through 0.0.. usually not an issue.. if you live in 0.0, you can afford to do a freighter op, if not directly then from who you are renting from - refine other mins = trit (not much of course, but some) - step up buy orders, and you can believe it that people will fill it if the price is right
its really not that hard to get trit in 0.0... now mexallon & megacyte on the other hand.......................

The real reason that veldspar can be found in deep 0.0 is that CCP wants people to use the resources where they live as much as possible.
Remember the carrier/can nerf? The mineral compression nerf? Yeah, same reason.

you do realize that logistically speaking, its easy to mine the low end minerals in 0.0 than to have to haul them up right...RIGHT? ----------------------------------------------- ya cant stop the rokh and no i have not nor will i ever contribute anything constructive to your thread |

um, and when mineral compression eats it, what are you carebears in hydra unna do about getting trit? Its there to be mined. So mine it.

I can almost picture the hordes of cheap-fit Hulks perma-tanking triple 1.8m BS spawns, getting remote-repped by a foreman-mindlinked Rorqual pilot operating all three mining links and the shield resist one (the very least), and the swarming of industrials buzzing to and from the nearby POS where a freighter loads up the compressed Veldspar and transports it to the nearest friendly Outpost... _

Veld and other lowends are in 0.0 exactly why the other people said; it is the most common stuff and therefor is omnipresent. However, no one but a ****** will touch the stuff because it is faster and easier to mine the ABCs and sell those to buy trit with.

Veld Miners Union. They're like Teamsters. Take their Veld away and they'll bury you in can in Jita.

I don't see why they don't make it a much "denser" veld/scordite/plagioclase out there in 0.0. That way people will actually mine it.
Or, does CCP not want low ends mined in 0.0? --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

Actually, it's already only 6-7 times more, at the current Jita prices. And I can only imagine lowends are more expensive, and highends cheaper in deep 0.0, so it's even less of a difference. Give it enough time, and wit will get probably, somewhere around only double or triple the income. _
