No no no. Carriers use Templars, an Amarr fighter, and they can assign them to shuttles. This is a poor tactic though due to the inability of shuttle to tank a great deal of damage. Or so I have heard.

i resisted up untill now...
Its a templar, an amarrian fighter drone that you should never never NEVER ever mention on eveo because this is what happens 
Also the word on the street says that the structural integrity of a certain ship that these fighters can be assigned to is somewhat questionable.

What if instead of assigning Templar, an Amarr drone carried by carriers, to the shuttle, you assign shield repping drones, carried by any ship? Then the shuttle can tank, from what I hear.

Perhaps you could have a carrier assign a mixture of shield booster drone, usable by any ship, and some Templars, an Amarr fighter drone that can only be used by carriers. Then you could tank the shuttle and kill everything in sight.

Easy. I haven't been actively playing more than a few weeks. My largest ship is a Cruiser, I don't even have any Drone skills, I've yet to PvP, and I'm still a day or so away from finally getting the ability to start on level 2 missions.
I do seem to have the ability to unwittingly start interminable threads fueled by controversial inside jokes, though. ;)
Just remember, not everyone that posts on the boards has a 12million skill-point character with a fleet of battle ships to decorate their hangars.
