Having recently become a billionaire myself, I began to fish around in the various channels of the rich to see what additional deals there were to turn my hard-earned billion into astronomical maounts. I was somewhat disappointed to see that an awful lot of the channels to do with wealth were more about bragging rights and gloating, as opposed to opportunities. There is a difference between those who want to work and want to gloat it seems.
Somewhat disenchanted, I wondered what I could do about this. After all, while a channel full of rich people sounds like someone you want to talk to about business, you want to filter it for people who actually want to invest and talk shop.
Now, I could have just arrived on bad nights, so I'm not going to slag off these channels, but sometimes a "society" or "club" would be better for this sort of thing. Eve doesn't support societies outside of a corp, so I decided to create a corp where it is ALTs ONLY.
The rules of the corp:
You must join with an alt in perfect business attire (we have a reputation to uphold after all), no stupid names, and designed to look like your lawyer (this is so that any RP billionaires that want to get involved can at least feel like they aren't metagaming). For the benefit of the RP community, which by no means are poor, these are your representatives you are sending to meetings.
You must have a billion ISK, liquid, which you are willing to verify by buying a lump of trit for. This will be instantly refunded. I am an honourable 3 year player and on top of that I consider this in some ways an RP thing. As an RPer, Im playing the role of a scrupulously honest CEO of The Dragon's Den. If you don't trust me, you don't know me. Flame me all you will, but I won't skank people. I would ask Nikolai Novolari, Clerence Thomas, Phelaen (who hates my guts) and Svetlana Scarlett to vouch that whether or not you like me I am not a thief.
You will never, ever, tell any other member your true main. Members do so at their own risk.
You never, ever give the corp any ISK. Deals are done through members discussing deals, never through the corp wallet. If people want there to be a corp wallet fund for a particular project, it has to be with the blessing of all parties.
You MUST be the sort of billionaire willing to look at new opportunities and not jsut gloat over cash. Everyone around you will be rich. People will approach us for investment and we must be willing to listen.
The corp is called Dragon's Den and has an office established tomorrow. Contact me or my alt if interested. What harm could it do?
(As a side note, this post will appear in several forums as not all entrepeneurs will read the initial post. Apologies for cross-posting).

Edited by: Paskel on 19/09/2007 00:20:28 a. Best of luck with your new corporation! b. If you want people to prove they are billionaires why don't you ask for a screen shot or sell them something worth a billion on the NPC market so that they don't have to worry about being scammed? e. Join channel egsex (Eve Galactic Stock Exchange) to talk to people who are serious about using their ISK.
Edited to remove stuff that came out kind of negative.

Edited by: Yal XianKun on 19/09/2007 00:42:31 Just read where I cross-posted that the amount can be done via trade window and no money switch hands, which is good enough for me. The idea is that the members are willing to invest large amounts, not that they have large amounts. Having large amounts is useless if there is no will to risk the capital in this context.
Edit: I will check out that channel, thank you for the advice.
