Its the lead article at http://www.abovetopsecret.com/ as well right now with 144 replies. I highly recommend that site, its not all conspiracy theories.
Also you get to talk politics, and people are usually polite and mature about it.

as for why the people got sick, meteors release large amounts of copper, lead, brass, and other heavy metals into the atmosphere for miles when they explode. when you breathe in heavy metals you get sick, have trouble breathing, get headaches, have trouble with eyesight, which is what they seemed to experience.

It makes sense tbh, a high velocity impact puts out huge amounts of heat, which stars process in the surrounding ground/vegetation which releases various gases/fumes which caN harm peoples health, nothing tin foilery about it

The stupidty of some section of the human race never ceases to amaze me.
"Increasingly we think that people witnessed a fireball, which are not uncommon, went off to investigate and found a lake of sedimentary deposit, which may be full of smelly, methane rich organic matter,"
"This has been mistaken for a crater."
"I think there's also a certain psychological fear in the community."
Well, I'm off to write a snotty missive to the Beeb telling them not to waste my money with trash like this.

Heres what I'm told. The impact + the explosion reduced the oxygen levels in the surrounding area.
