The meteor might have had toxic chemicals in it, or the ground it hit might have had toxic chemicals in it. It's not really a big mystery. --------------------------------------------------------------------

An air strike on a shot down spy satellite... or a meteorite detonating some swamp gas. Hmm. Which story is more sexy?

Its the lead article at http://www.abovetopsecret.com/ as well right now with 144 replies. I highly recommend that site, its not all conspiracy theories.
Also you get to talk politics, and people are usually polite and mature about it.

it's probably just a container filled with all the dump&**** of our international space station. nothing to see here, move along.
maybe governments thought that if they keep the astronauts crap into a container for 3 years, it might create life, lol.
anyways: if we don't know yet EXACTLY what it is, then it's because governments don't want us to know. ergo: some kind of secret FAILED experiment or some other bull****.

How does that post make everything else crazy?
Ive been reading it for a few months now, and I can honestly say that most of it is news that dont show up in the mainstream media for various reasons. Then you have people speculate about what the news really are.
As in the case of this "meteorite", it makes hundreds of people sick and has killed animals. None of that is possible by a meteorite. There has in fact never been a meteorite in history that has made people and animals sick.
So thats why I read the site.

I just have to post this... now the government says the symptoms from the crashed "meteorite" is caused by... drum roll... mass hysteria.
I guess the animals who died, including the large bull, was just imagining things.
Linkage
Another alternate theory is that the thing that crashed was a American spy satellite, based on the fact that the Pu238 in the fuel cells of those things would cause exactly the symptoms that was experienced by the 600 or so victims.

Wait, I read somewhere that it was caused because the ground water in the area had traces of arsenic in it. When the meteorite hit it vaporised a crapload of said ground water, so a bunch of people in the area ended up breathing in trace amounts of arsenic...not sure where i read that though.

I think they probably felt that cover story would be too easy to be proven wrong, so they made up mass hysteria instead, which cannot be proven wrong by other scientists or doctors.

Well, I still think the spy satellite theory seems the most likely. According to a guy on abovetopsecret:
"Guys today I have been told some strange news about this whole meteorite crash. I work in a medical building that houses government agencies as well, and because in my lab business I have some very close friends that are doctors in a wide field we all share case studies and crap even the federal labs in my building. This morning after my morning b.s. tour around my lab to make sure all my little nerdies are busy doing thier work case studies and such I stepped out to do my rounds for the building gossip and one of my fellow nerds just happened to alert me to this whole meteorite crash blunder. Now the funny thing here in this artical states the sickness is just mass hyseria of sorts, But according to a close friend there "MIGHT" be more to this. His girl works for the CDC in Atlanta and she was dispatched to this site and word back is that it is a bit more serious than a mass hysteria. Now her words are that the CDC has taken over the impact site and some who have been in close contact with fumes have been under lock and key since the onset of the sickness. Now no other word from that but I find it a bit funny that this story popped up today and this is total B.S."
