Tranquility will undergo an extended downtime on Tuesday, 25 September. The start time is 11:00 GMT and the length of the downtime is expected to be 3 hours. During this time, a patch will be applied to Revelations consisting mainly of fixes.
Patch Notes will be available for review in the near future. Additions may be made to the patch notes during or after deployment. Changes made will be highlighted in green text.

Originally by: Paddlefoot Aeon When those Microsoft people were in Iceland last week to deal with that database issue causing all the crashes, they didn't, perhaps, suggest a bunch of the optimizations which make up this patch, did they?
No, the optimisations in Revelations 2.2.2 stem from continuing database "Need for Speed" work started after the release of Revelations II. We nevertheless have a number of operational action points following Microsoft's visit, some of which have already been implemented.
Originally by: Radianze wait for expanded patch notes last time patch notes got 2 times bigger after a day
Not a lot is missing from the patch notes, since the primary purpose of this patch was to fix two "multiple users" issues and deliver more database optimisations. There are still some items missing and a re-arrangement pending, so stay tuned.

Yes, could you all please pay your alliance maintenance bills before the DT on Tuesday and not plan to pay it at 12:01 GMT on Tuesday when "all of a sudden" the server is "unexpectedly" down? Please?

Originally by: Patch Notes An extraneous (and empty) "plugins" directory was being created on Voice enabled accounts. This directory will no longer be created.
With important game breaking bugs like this getting fixed, Drone fixes can be only days away!
This folder was being created by code in OpenAL from Creative, which is a part of EVE Voice. Only the EVE installer and patcher should make modifications to the installation folder and this behaviour was unacceptable from a security standpoint. It could also cause problems on Windows Vista.

Sorry, this issue is not being fixed in this patch. Most likely the fix will come in Revelations III.

Originally by: Helison Are there currently more patches planned for Rev II? So will we see Rev 2.2.3 or even Rev 2.3? Or is the current plan to go as fast as possible to Rev3?
The answer is "yes"
If need arises then we will release Revelations 2.2.3, but we're not planning that release.
We're planning to release Mac and Linux support in Revelations 2.3, see this thread for more details.
Then we're working hard on the new graphics engine and the all-new art content for Revelations III, in addition to a lot of other new stuff and bugfixes. See this dev blog for more details.

Could you be a bit more explicit on what issues were fixed? I own a transgaming "Cedga" license for Linux but I cannot run both my Main and my Alt at the same time. I would be quite happy if this issue got fixed.
Assuming your main and alt are on the same account, then that's intended game play.
Only one character per account can be on-line at any time and only one character can be doing skill training off-line. If you want to log in two characters at the same time then they need to be on different accounts.
The client handles multiple characters and multiple accounts using the same Windows user but there are instances were you would want different Windows users. For example, if you have more than one client; one client for Tranquility but also clients for our test servers, Singularity and Multiplicity; or if you only have one client but multiple accounts and want to keep the data for each account separate. See this post and this post for more details.
There were also issues in using the client with Fast User Switching in Windows that have also been resolved.

Originally by: Elseer Radak Thanks for your response. However I'm in the second class - TWO CCP accounts (Thus two sub fees, Same Credit Card FWIW), TWO Characters, two separate training paths (A Miner and a Hauler what could be clichT?). On Linux you cannot run both clients at the same time (Unlike on windows) - at least according to the Cedega support Folks. I was hoping that the blurb about multiple accounts in your patch notes meant that this matter was fixed in Cedega. From your responce I guess this means the matter was not addressed?
No, the issue we resolved was only related to running multiple instances of the client, each with the credentials of a different Windows user. There were no problems running multiple instances of the client so long as all were run in the context of the same Windows user.
I didn't know it was a problem on Cedega/Cider to run multiple instances of the EVE client; it has a purpose when you have multiple accounts and is possible and supported under Windows. We're working on supporting Mac and Linux and we have regular meetings with TransGaming these days (as can be seen from their front page...). I'll bring this issue to their attention and have our QA team look at it.

My contacts at TransGaming confirm the reply from Sevarus James above. If you need more help then I can suggest the EVE Technology Lab or the Cedega Forums.
