Had great time during MJ-5 assault, haven't had such fun in game since defense of K25 about a year ago. Yay for our allies SMASH and Atlas - you guys rock! Respect and thanks to MAD guys who were bringing the fights. Props to Frege who still undock their caps for our gangs on regular basis
o/ to xXDEATHXx guys - seeing you in local usually means fun fight is coming. WTH you guys kept calling me primary five times in a row the other day , my poor megat couldn't resist that kind of attention.
UAxDEATH, you changed your main? I liked the original name better

FREGE had tons of fun in those battles. We learned a lot about sov warfare and fleet fights, and even more about politics (barf).
To RK, mad props for bringing it. Now go do something useful

Well, i spook to 4 peeps known for their good video productions, they apologized because the numbers were massive, lag+unreal delay. I dunno how edgewise managed to fraps it anyway, some peeps couldn't play without gettin desynched.

Originally by: zykerx ended up with us having a 130 man fleet, local spiking at almost 600 and then node died but we managed to kill there tower and saved oure own was pretty amazed hostiles waited solong with such a ods for them, they waited until they had almost 4 to 1 ods
dling the film, hope its a good one.
OK the last time I wil post this.
Yes we had massive numbers in that op.
As you know the server crashed and was lagged to death.
By the time the server stabilised it was about 1-2am UK time and the majority of the gang was in the process of logging off.
As ever we never had the numbers in the US tz which is why people started to get sick of it.
Also remember that for the most part mad pact members had never even heard of TIO before this happened, turning up night after night for someone you dont even know is pretty good imo.

As for how he managed to fraps it while I, for instance, was waiting for 30 minutes to for anything at all to appear on my screen, if you'll look at his kill stats I think the answer will become readily apparent: Edge haxx.

I tried watching the video but i got bored and started watching family Guy =/. For one you should cut out all the fights that are like 50v3 like the first 3-5 fights. Dont show yourself running around podding people its rather boring. For large scale fights you shouldnt cut the scene up so you are only watching ships explode.
Basically all i saw in this vid was a Vagabond running around podding people, several random unassociated ganks 50v1, and ships exploding. Hardly any fighting, cant tell whats going on most of the time and idk how people can fight zoomed in on their ship like that. D. -------------------------- Piwate Bunny Wuv

Not sure when was the last time you guys were involved in 400+ ship fights, but from what I experienced, getting decent fraps was the least of our concerns. The video is more of a personal diary of one players involvement in the war. Maybe if we can collect enough screenshots we will do you guys a powerpoint slideshow. It would have better fps then the game.
How bob and the goons are fighting it out, I have no idea. While we had some pretty big numbers at times in mj-, I imagine it isn't as many as they have duking it out. And it was unplayable when we were going at it. A lot of the time primaries were called which where either already dead, or only visibile on a few peoples overviews. The fighter blob + bubbles on the gates works thou as has been proven. Dunno how you guys are dealing with the desync cause its pretty attrocious when you have hostiles jump into you, and only 5 minutes later they start showing up on your overview. Maybe they have more server power behind their nodes, or they all have beast pc's.
Seems like anymore then 50v50 and the game seriously starts to become unplayable. Less of internet spaceship pew pew, and more who has faster internet? or whatever it is that determines who gets desynced or not. Hell even with 10v10 the game lags, which is pretty ridiculous. I wasn't involved in big fleet flights like a year ago (char is only 10months old) but from all accounts, lag these days is a lot worse.
And so far as the vaga not having a scram fitted, I think for chasing down support and insta popping them in fleet fights, it works just as well. You probably don't really need a scram as the lag scrams your targets for you :) And so far as shooting pods goes, well we had killed a lot of the cloning services around the place, so I think podding hostile pilots was a good way of taking them out of the fight for a long time unless they wanted to come back at the risk of losing skillpoints :o
FYI, I haven't actually seen the vid (about to get capped), but I've talked to the person who made it.
Back on topic thou, was a really fun engagement, and its good to see all involved enjoyed it. And looks like most people have decided to refrain from smacking now, unlike the original thread which is a refreshing change. Was interesting to read the unflattering report on eve-tribune. But tbh, it sounded a bit like a very biased and childish rant, rather then an accurate report, thou I assume there are many parts which are true. Would be nice to hear a campaign report from the madpact side. I have posted a few battlereports on scrapheap forums if anyone is interested.
Its a pity thou, that everyone has decided to all shoot at frege now. Sucks cause we can't rock up with 4-5 man gangs to NGM anymore and get good fights, cause without a doubt someone else has already been there, and frege already have a 30man gang ready to blob us out :o, no more roaming fun lol.
Anyway, sorry for long post, don't have eve avail atm, so all I can do is forum ***** it up :D

The fights were awesome, but as mentioned above, the video doesn't give an accurate depiction of what went on, due to immense overview lag. Some nice vaga flying going on there though.

Peanut's thread was 'win' here as well. That trib article was, to steal a phrase from Mark Twain, "greatly exaggerated the reports of our demise". Yeah, we've got fighting going on, but we're used to that.
It was an amazing coupla' weeks down in MJ, and win, lose or draw, much respect for a lot of the fighters in RK/Smash. Except for the juvenile smack talkers...but hey that's to be expected with the pure numbers that were engaged in there.
I also saw some RK/SMash be-otching in general about the drone regions mining and such. Welcome to our world.

You guys don't find it the least bit strange that there was no attempt in killing the towers and eliminating hostiles from the system? I bet if you all weren't so busy chestbeating with your "100+ vs. 400+ and we won.. we rule, etc." you'd ask yourself "wtf just happened here?".
We were in fact very curious while we were sitting for several hours at our pos repping it asking ourselves how we could be outnumbered 3:1 and no one attacking us. Regardless of the reasons I'd say a little cheat beating wont hurt. If say frege was willing to take a lead in the MAD pact you could have sent your 100 guys and see how the battle starts and either pulled out if things got to hot or called more people in if you started winning. The fact that no one was willing to do that while SmashKill + Atlas were sitting outside a pos reping it when out numbered so greatly deserves to do some cheatbeating.
-John
Simple. Fitz had to log and then gl finding another guy willing to lead 300 npcers from alliances u flown with before. The kind of people that send hatemails to the FC for saying over TS "myrmidons and random bcs arent very usefull in fleet fights try bringing snipers next time" =p.
@ Frege: stop trying to make it look like your friends turned on you and START TRAINING SOME FCs.
Cheers

ok thought i'd grace eve-o and this thread with a quick post on ka-tets position
FYI i have been stalling a reset of FREGE for months if it wasnt for academion asking me nicely not to cos u guys we "helping" with the bob war
so as friends of teh goon swarm we obliged and agreed to a stall....but only for so long and we chose to reset you when it was made apparant to us you were that much help anyway
other than live next door to us FREGE has never done anything to warrant -k- calling you friends
you werent there against Blood raiders when we orchestrated their removal, you werent there against FATAL when they dropped their OP and we orchestrated their removal and for the brief stint where kraftwerk attacked ED (who are mad members afaik)before diplomatic resolution
Ka-tet was the first to arrive on each of these occasions and frege never showed up
so please dont play the backstab card because its just not true.......
we didnt sign up for the MAD pact for the exact reason it failed ...
and like it was said before....our friendship with rk/smash goes back before either of us were even formed
it only loooks like we jumped aboard a "bandwagon" but i can promise you its not the case
the only thing to ever come out of having frege + is us being shot at by blue ---------------------------------------------

In fact, FREGE still owes one of our pilots 315mil for those blue on blue incidents.
By my reckoning, that gives us 3.15 Burn Eden's worth of justification for shooting you.

I wasnt trying to say podding is bad, i was trying to say watching someone run around podding people is rather boring and should be left outta the video.
Lag is always a massive problem in Eve. If your fraps is crap due to lag i can understand why the video made from it would seriously suffer, but editing the vid to just show a Vagabond target something and watch it explode isnt very exciting though Xsplosions are sexy. And im sure the fights were exciting, but the video really doesnt convey that.
I can see the Webabond being very useful esp with ceptors to point and bubbles everywhere. Also if you web something going full speed and he then clicks to warp to something that ship will take an extremely long time to warp compared to what it usually does.
As for everyone shooting Frege. MD-K was the first to do it in the Drone regions so everyone is just copying us =P. ♥ Frege ♥ -------------------------- Piwate Bunny Wuv

As I said, that video was just one persons experience of the mj- engagement. A personel video rather then one meant to represent our whole alliances engagement in mj-. It may have been misrepresented as an official campaign overview video (or whatever you want to call it). Some of the other guys also have a fair bit of footage which needs to be put together into a video. You might see that released sometime, and it will probably cover more of the engagements etc. But I don't think anyone has actually been assigned the task of collecting footage and editing it into a movie. Not sure if they have the time, or the interest to do so. We shall see.
Anyway not my video but constructive criticism is always welcome. I'm sure the vaga pilot is gonna take onboard all the criticisms for his next video. It would probably be a difficult task to capture good footage in the frantic environment of big fleet battles. I'm sure a lot of guys on our side at least will enjoy watching the vid just to bring back some great memories.
Apologies if you guys have been misled into believing that this video represents our campaign in MJ-. Gods didn't state in the opening post that it was, it was just someones personal video to give you a taste of what it was like.

Oh ffs, can we get off the stupid video please?!
"MJ" was a lot of fun and like a lot of people said before, everyone learnt something. Like the fact that our killboards show 4 Blackbirds going down before anyone even looked at my Falcon, etc. Maybe the FC that evening just need a bit of experience.
Anyways, for people outside the Drone Regions, please understand that we have a lot of fun. Mostly thanx to Roadkill and Smash going through the trouble of flying many jumps to come harras us, daily.
Smash/Kill demands a lot of respect and so does Frege. All three alliances know how to win and lose with style and class. People like Atlas are really just roadtrippin' and Ka-tet is hands-down the biggest joke around.
Smash/Kill claims that "MJ" was the first step in a long-term plan, well, I for one can't wait for phase II. And don't care too much about a few corps leaving, you know I'll meet you at the gate like I always do.

Not sure what exact engagement you were talking about. But a lot of the fights the sniper fleet shot nothing but enemy BS's. Support would have been tasked with killing all support, with tacklers and ewar being a priority. Perhaps your falcon was cloaked :D
