This is a player driven economy, we made the lag. Those who complain are the same ones who complain when waiting in line to check out. The more people there are, the longer you have to wait.
You can easily go to a different store, and if the whiners started doing that, we would have more trade hubs and less lag in Jita.
So the only way to fix Jita is not to sit and whine, because Eve is still growing, but actively get together and form a solution.
But don't ask me, I don't know jack!
The rule of Eve, adapt or DIE!

While you're correct that the solution evidently isn't to sit and whine, it should be.
It is sad to know that the game's designers can't fix technical issues in the game and rely on the players to work around them.

But they will fix it. Eventually they'll have multiple processors running just one system, and possibly quite soon. In the meantime do what the OP suggested and what everyone does in the real world - make your own adjustments.
I don't understand how Jita can still be so popular. I know there exists at least one regional hub in which almost everything is sold for less than in Jita, and I'd be quite surprised to find that this is just a freak exception.

So they fix the current problem and more people see that Jita is manageable and more people will go there and the lag will come back.
People go there because in the trade-off between lag and a good trade hub, they believe that a good trade hub is more important than painless flying. If it becomes faster, more people will go there and the lag will increase more or less back to the current levels (probably slightly worse because more people = better trading = higher lag pain threshold).

Nope, it's an unfixable situation. The more resources CCP have pumped into Jita, the more people have gone there. Not long after CCP makes the new change to scalable, multi-node systems, the players will push it to its limits and Jita will be the same as it is now, only with many, many more players there.
I used to get It. Then It changed. Now I don't even know what It is.

Jita is laggy because lazy people go there to trade; said lazy people then complain about the lag, and, in a wonderfully ironic twist, often suggest ways that CCP can reduce the number of pilots going to Jita to be lazy, so that they themselves may go to Jita to be lazy without suffering from lag from all the other lazy pilots. Also forgetting that if traffic is reduced, so is the entire point of trading there in the first place.
There I think that about covers it.

Agreed. As long as lazy prople go there to get everything to save few thousands it will be as today. Go to Amarr, empty most of the time, good prices, not lag. Oursulaert (my favorite) has bit lag because it's a hub but nothing like Jita and very cheap market too.

No, actually you cannot. Especially if you happen to be looking for several different things, such as outfitting a new ship.
Just a couple of days ago I did that, and EVERY single search showed the lowest price and often the ONLY available items to be available in Jita. And I checked 4 regions.
What we need is a new trade hub to compete with Jita. If the politicians in some other sector were smart they would offer some things like tax incentives to steal trade from Jita.
And it has nothing to do with being "lazy" as some state. It has to do with the fact that Jita is the ONLY major hub, and it needs some competition.

Turn the frigging station 180 degrees around! Noone wants to be in Jita longer than they have to. If they can undock and warp out to the gate faster without the cluster****jam outside the station, there will be less people in Jita.
How much simpler does it have to be, CCP?

Theres no problem with jita believe me...
U can only look at market Regionwide and thats exactly the problem or people could find cheaper stuff and actually fly there..
anyways jita been cut of belts afaik and it will help in long term too but making player able to look at market eve wide will really solve this ---------------------------------------------------- Global Warming? you know, that jita is running on it own node... now lets say they add another node to it.... now 1000 ppl can go freely in there.... carebear happyness for 1 week. next weekend... 2000+ people in there whining that theres lagg...
makeing jita hardware more powerfull is really a waste of money for CCP... endless hole that cant be filled (unless they find a way to get 20000 people in a system and server wount die, what is impossible atm whit current hardware whats out there).
i know most ppl playing EvE are system admins and IT specialists.. but it would be great if they knew just a little bit how the stuff works.. so there wouldnt be soo much whine thats clueless :P
