True, it was possible a long time ago, (cold war patch iirc) but not anymore.

The really sneaky part is that you actually have to aim that gun at exactly the opposite direction from your target.
So when he sees you he'll think "phew, he is not aiming at me, I might yet live".
But then you fire your one-shot gun, the gigantic recoil hurls you in the opposite direction (aka towards the target) with supersonic speed... Kaboom!

Pft, supersonic is SLOW. Since you fire out an equal mass of the frigate at relatavistic velocities then it stands to reason the frigate should go the same speed in the other direction..... I'd upgrade the inertial stabs first though....

Ah, I hadn't thought of using a carrier to fit them. Might have to try that. On the other hand, these guns are 1000m3 and don't the things you're fitting have to be in your cargo to fit them?

From what I recall, a jetcan may do the trick. Just jettison a unit of ammo and have the Carrier pilot put the Blasters into your can!
