afaik they don't warp in on top of you in a deadspace. They warp in to the warp in point of the mission. Especially if there's a gate leading into it. They're going to have to go through the same gates you did. So just stay away from where those gate jumps end.

I wasn't being sarcastic actually :).
I believe I have a decent idea how to stay safe in deadspace encounters at the least, but this mission is a regular encounter. I guess i'm just gonna have to be really careful until i'm up to 8.0. ----------------------------------------------- A computer is like an air-conditioner, as soon as you open Windows, it stops working.

it can suck being targetted repeatedly, but you seem to be trying to cope with the problem of being targeted by multiple pirates solo? Will your friends or corp mates not help you out... their after an easy target, if you never have the force needed to slap them about you'll always be an easy target.
just one good kicking will give that gang 2nd thoughts for a long time, they will need to consider "has he got backup nearby again?"... well, might not work, but it'd be more fun than your current situation?

Fit a battleship with smart bombs and warp core stabs. Accept a mission that will have one single warp in point no matter where you warp from. I know some lvl 4 missions that have the setup like this but I'm not sure about lvl 3. Sit at the warp in point and dont move with your drones out, and check the scanner. Wait for the covop pilot to drop a probe and scan you down. He will have to warp to you and will bump in your ship or the drones and that will decloak him. Activate the smart bombs and destroy the covop ship and pod the pilot. If his friends show up, just warp away and hope they dont have more points then you have warp core stabs. They will think twice before trying again.

2. Avoid drones. Contrary to popular opinion, they aren't inherently easier to probe down, but if you use them I have 6 targets to scan for instead of one (and they appear easier because 5 of the 6 possible results are drones).
Minor nit. Mobile Drones use MWDs in deadspaces, so in a way they are inherently easier to scan down. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Originally by: SN3263827 Tips for avoiding interruptions in missions:
1. Maximise sensor strength, minimise signature radius. That means avoid setups dependent on shield extenders, and don't overdo your (shield) tank. If you can afford to drop a hardener and fit ECCM then do it.
2. Avoid drones. Contrary to popular opinion, they aren't inherently easier to probe down, but if you use them I have 6 targets to scan for instead of one (and they appear easier because 5 of the 6 possible results are drones).
3. Move away from the warp in point. If you sit on the beacon then I have no problem scrambling you. If you move 40km+ away then I need a specialised ship.
4. Align out of the mission. If it means you drift out of optimal then have two warp out points and bounce backwards and forwards between aligning for one then the other.
5. Use your scanner. As a pirate I have to keep an eye on it all the time so I can get out if I'm being baited or blobbed. You don't get it any easier I'm afraid. If you see a ship within 15,000km (or even within 1au) then you're better off being somewhere else.
6. Cloaks are useless. You'll take longer to do your mission sue to longer lock times, resulting in more time for a successful scan result, and you can't cloak if even a single ship has you locked.
I only give these tips because human nature will ensure I still get targets, and my philosophy is that those sensible enough to listen deserve the discount.
This is all great advice. Additionally, since you're just doing L3s, I might recommend trying them in a smaller, faster, more agile ship than the usual lunky missile spewers. I ran missions in the same area you are for a while, and while there were some attempts, I never got ganked or failed a mission.
Probably the single best thing you can do though is be smart about where you run your missions. For a lot of people who don't want the hassles, that means hisec, and there are persuasive arguments for that being more economical overall. If you want to run in losec though, you're going to have to spend some time looking at your available agents and your map filters. It's completely worth it to to take a lower quality agent if you can minimize the time you spend bugging out or getting ganked.
