I'm with eclipse as well an having the same issue - I strongly recommend people opening tickets about this with tech support.
Eclipse have had various issues with eve for a couple off months now and things had been getting better. I am starting to wonder if this is tied into the the similar Tiscali issues as I understand Eclipse are in some way tied into them.

I just started getting connection issues again just after 4pm.
These issues do seem to be very similar to the ones in the tiscali thread. Lets just hope CCP and Eclipse are talking to each other again. Some feed back from CCP would not go amiss again.

Well I got a response on my ticket :-
Thank you for letting us know.
We are aware of an issue currently with this Game.
We are currently investigating and shall update you as soon as we have further information.
I'm not going to hold my breath on this one and after 48 hours relatively issue free I'm back at Checking Status errors. I have also noticed that my Bittorrent goes to pot at the same time as my eve connection - could there be some p2p issues involved here?

Well just managed to get a normal connection and no hanging at acquiring bulk data or character selection.
How long will it last?

Well that was about 1 1/2 hours of relatively drop free playing time. At least I managed to set some longer skills training.
Be good if a Dev could sticky an Eclipse Connection Issues thread next to the Tiscali one - would save a fair few more threads being started.

Having had a look around Eclipses web site I found this paragraph on their faq page :-
Quote: Why do you manage traffic on your Evolution Broadband products?
All Eclipse Evolution Broadband products come with unlimited downloads (subject to a generous Fair Usage Policy), but, in order to give all of our customers the best possible service at a competitive price, we manage the traffic on these products so that intensive activities such as such as file downloads, peer-to-peer (P2P) and Usenet traffic do not swamp the network and slow down time-sensitive traffic, such as web browsing, email, gaming and Internet phone calls
Linkage
I think we are possibly getting the same issue as the Tiscali users are and Eclipse are treating EVE as p2p traffic either accidentally or purposefully. Somethings a foot with port 26000.

Originally by: BunnyGunny The point I'm trying to make is that they might very well be in the middle of a technical s**tstorm right now and simply not be wanting to let on how bad it is for pr matters. They are providing the levels of customer service required to inform us of whats going on. They are acknowledging calls in a reasonably prompt manner (despite people like you continuously harassing them), they are informing people that the issue is being attended to and will no doubt get a resolution in due time. The call being closed could just be an error by a stressed out helpdesk operator having a bad day because geeks are harrassing them about a video game.
Well the issue has been running since the middle of August so either you have the patience of Job or they have gone way past due time. Yes they could have major technical issues but the only people up in arms are those using port 26000 from what I have read, EVE and Quake players on Eclipse and Tiscali. As for PR this issue seems to be snowballing and that is a recipe for a PR disaster.
They are not informing anyone of anything - there have just been a series of cut and paste reply's to tickets. My first ticket was closed without me agreeing the problem was fixed and indeed it has proved not to have been.
The total lack of communication is looking rather suspicious now and might reflect anticipated potential legal difficulties in terms of broken contracts. Of course this could all be made easier with a public statement and an time line for a fix.

I have had the same response and my ticket has been closed. Lets hope that they have sorted it but so far today it is working as normal.
Hope Tiscali resolve the issue for their users - wouldnt it be amazing if both issues got fixed at the same time.
