What is CCP's stance regarding other people playing on an account. I let my friend borrow an old account that I didn't use, but I own. Is this frowned upon by CCP?

I don't understand. As long as only one person is playing on the account, would this not be alright? if not, then I would think that all the kids you are using their parents credit card to pay for their accounts would also be breaking this rule. As technically the parent owns the account, even though it is their kids that play on it.

As far as I know, it is mostly to cover CCP so that you cannot petition something back because your brother/friend/corpmate whatever decided to take your navy raven/whatever out to lowsec and lost it. Basically, if your account gets screwed over because someone else used it, you are screwed. I can't imagine they actually have issues with different family members playing on the same account, etc.

Edited by: Ki Tarra on 25/09/2007 20:58:49 Here is the long explaination as to why account sharing is not allowed.
Basicly it comes down to the fact that there have been alot of problems in the past and those problems create a lot of work for are GM's who then don't have time to deal with real problems that not could have been prevented by players following the rules.
In practice, as long as you don't have any problems with sharing your account, then you problably won't have any problems. If you do have problems because you gave away your password, CCP will blame you for them.
Just don't do it and you will be better off. If your friend wants to give Eve a try, have him make a trial account. If he hangs around for a while, transfer the character to his account.
