Here's a view from a new player. Alliances that I'm completely clueless about are omitted.
Against ALL Authorities - They are the gandalf that appears during sunrise when IAChelmsdeep is being sieged by Saurons, eer I mean Shrike's minions.
Band of Brothers - They are the proletariat. I think we're fighting them, but I don't know, I just shoot when my FC tells me to.
CVA - Great RP PvPers secretly feared by many BoB and Goons. Hey, they are Amarr (like me), so their competence comes as no surprise.
Exuro Mortis - They had Scius in their alliance, therefore they are the most HOANARABLE!~~!.
Frege Alliance - They live in the drone regions, and get harassed by wardecs in Rens.
Firmus Ixion - Bob's pet meatshield.
GoonSwarm - The bourgeoisie.
Hun Reloaded - They like trying to kill goons in Scalding Pass, but aren't successful as Pandemic legion in killing Rise.
Interpid Crossing - I once saw a recruitment post for this alliance, but the recruiter's Eve-O signature was so horrible I decided not to apply.
IAC - These guys have faced a lot of adversity. I was in a op to go help them once, but I got doomsdayed in the face.
Imperial Republic of the North
Kraftwerk - Saw them once in a system while flying by, and they didn't kill me, so I think they're friendly.
KIA - First three letters of Tolon's name?
M.Pire - Bob pet that gets a lot of kills with their POSes. They are also connected to The Church somehow ..coughnyxbpocough...
Mercenary Coalition - Sexiest spy forum signatures ever.
Pure. - I tried joining a corp in this alliance in the beginning. I was rejected. The recruiter told me that they don't recruit 3-day old characters, and that 0.0 was a rough place for noobs. Oh well, look where I ended up.
Privatees Alliance - Bob pet that wardecs in empire to try and camp stations in Rens.
Pandemic Legion - 25 of them can spell the destruction of a 900 strong alliance.
Red Alliance - I'm scared of them. Really. All I know is that they're very hardcore. Whenever a fellow goon says something in local while RA is in the system that could be interpreted as even remotely offensive, I cringe.
Razor Alliance - I think these guys are doing good in the North.
Rise - Their FC in the BoB Pettalk video sounds like a young George Bush in a EVE fraternity. He also sounded very depressed. Hey man, are you ok? Don't worry about it, it's just an online spaceship game.
Triumvirate - They have cool signatures and website.
Tau Ceti Federation - Their profiles are fun to read. They also show up when goons are in dire need.
The Church - Lowsec pirates. The first player killmail I ever got in eve was a Church vagabond in L4X.
United Legion - Helped clear the way for the invasion of Feyth (?)
YouWhat - They support BoB on the forums.
Also Corm: They hide in their stations and POSses a lot. Oh well, can't blame them. There are a few notable Corm that goons give some sort of weird "props" to (e.g. brokenwing, kusangi). Something about "bringing it".
