The Apple iPhone was my first Apple purchase. I already have ATnT as a phone service so my out of pocket increased only 20 bucks a month for unlimited internet. The user interface was what i wanted out of the deal: my four year old daughter learned how to use it in a few minutes by playing with it. its quite easy to use. Compared to stylus phones and menu driven phones its hands down much better to use. I now have an all in one device to take with me (no more pda, phone, camera, calendar book/address book, calculator, or portable laptop for entertainment - video and music or an ipod for that matter which i never had before). They are worth it if you want something that is easy to use and cool looking.

Contract: ú35/month for 18 months (ú630)
Total: ú899. That's about $1800 for the Yanks.
Err, no thanks. Maybe when it's priced vaguely sensibly. |

Yeah, I try to stay away from that kind of gadgetry so I dont know. But it seemed to me from the getgo that they werent selling anything that a blackberry couldnt already do. The Iphone just has the eye candy factor.
as evidenced when apple tried to find a market for it in Japan, noone wanted it because they said they had that kind of tech in their phones 10 years ago.
