Some of you might know that o2 just released plans to launch the iPhone to o2 users only, I'm wondering if any of you US people outthere already have one, and tell your fewelings towards it?
ME personally cant wait for it, big ipod fan this should be amazing!

My current contract runs out on 6th October... I think i shall be holding out on a new one until November when i can get the iPhone.
Looks awesome and worth the wait

I just joined o2 bin with them 2 months now but got the samsung u600 at the monent fantastic phone but this is huge to me i got like 9 ipods at the moment i collect em u cud say!

I got an iPhone about 4 days after the release and absolutely love it. Sure, there are a few little things I don't like but those are far outweighed by the positives. I have heard the arguments about other spartphones and how they are better, but (in my opinion) everything else lacks the pure style/sleekness of the iPhone and its interface.
Let me mention, though, that I never had an iPod. I can see where iPod fans may have a little difficulty adapting to the relatively small storage capacity (8GB) of the iPhone, as compared to iPods. Just keep that in mind if you're used to having an extensive library. That being said, every time I see somebody with a video iPod nowadays and see the minuscule screen, I smile to myself and my internal voice says "mine is better than yours!"

iPhone is a gimmick phone. It was overhyped since it had the Apple logo on it. I'm mean omg omg, it must be like an iPod and play music and be really good....oh wait, other phones do that already? And no hidden DRM? Too many people are doing the forehead smack when they stood in line for several hours in the rain to get one...only to realize they got a mediocre phone.
Asthetics? Sleek? Gotta be a slave to fads because you sure didn't do homework on whats available.

as far as i know (might be wrong) the iphone does not have 3G? so much for the phone part ^^
apart from that, i'd really like to know what the big fuzz about the iphone is, when HTC is releasing smartphones with touchscreen, gps, pda, mp3, etc for ages.

It blows, my company bought an iphone just after it was released in the US, only nice feature about it is the Wi-Fi.
Oh and engadget continually reports all the faults and stuff users are having with it, so always worth checking up on there 
EDIT: Yes your correct it has no 3G and the camera has pretty poor reolution

My suggestion as a viable alternative would be one of these. Not as pretty, certainly, but is unlikely to be on one network only. Supposedly Nokias answer to the iPhone.

Just make sure you turn off the Email Update thingie if you're gonna take it abroad. So you don't end up with one of those $7000 bills that some people have gotten.
To me tho, it's an overhyped, overpriced piece of a gimmick. And I won't be getting one untill it drops to about $25-50.

I am going to defend Apple as one who actually dislikes their products
For Apple:
It is new technology so there will be lots of bugs to iron out in the HW and SW.
As an early adopter of technology I always expect the 2nd version of any product I buy to be much better than the 1st .
Against Apple:
what a big mistake to leave out 3G but I hear the 2nd version might have it and also the price of the iPhone will be much less
Finally I hear today that those who have "Unlocked" their iPhone to use with another service provider are going to end up owning an iBrick on the next SW update as Apple has said that the update might cause irreversible damage to any unlocked iPhones

So no 3G, poor camera, not great for texting. Never mind that 02 has poor EDGE network coverage and for ú35 a month that you are paying on the 18month contract you get a laughable number of minutes included.
The Iphone, for people with more money then, well, anything else.

iphone is a stupid piece of shi.t in my opinion. Why not wait until the new Nokia n95 (8gb) comes out ? I hear it can actually make phonecalls and you can set text tones ! omg! I believe N95 (new 1) is due for release in early November.

I am thinking of getting that as its more advance than ipod.
Also I dont like the fact only can get iphone with one network! For me lack of choice is a no no I am happy with Orange and i been with them for ummm 8 years :)

Can you explain to the audience what "new technology" the iPhone has please? I'm looking and I dont really see anything new. Matter of fact it looks like they ripped a few ideas and put a spin on some others. I dont see anything new about it though.
Or did you mean new technology for the Apple company in general? Jumping into a market thats saturated with exceptional products and inovation in spades can only be successful if you have better hype. Not a better product.
I'm not even going to get into what the japanese have available.
