You know what - it's a crying shame when those little miners who sit out on the belt all day, dont have the guts to get involved in the game. Hulkaddeon is great!!! Not only does it give the Carebears a chance to try out new fits (expensive but come on guys you can afford it!!!) and also to try out some of those long lost tactical skills!!
Come on guys you make a shed load out of mining, so stop yer whining!! I've only lost one Hulk so far - and it taught me loads - especially about my skills and fit. Once I get podded I can then go out on the hunt and pew pew them back!!
Its a flamin game !!! I spend time during the year mining so that I can get the isk to join in an loose a few ships (not high enough on the missions yet to benefit) - how else do you get better ?? Not join in ??

I have to agree that I'm a little misty at putting my hulk away for the month, but I am excited to get out and do something new for a bit! haven't actually shot anything in quite a while that wasn't a big, ole' rock. Hell, start learning scanning, or get into trade, or just plain go blow something up... There is a whole universe out there! |

Miners are recognised as the minimum wage element of EvE. AS per the repeated posting, so claims of easy affordable loses is ridiculous.
Yet today's suicide ganker can claim to earn a plex in an afternoon from attacking soft targets.
However, their epeen wont allow them to look at the risk reward element aspect of this game as them being lazy cowards, especially with broken player policing systems and conflict mechanics they can simply use to avoid any form of retribution to their criminal actions.
As an alternative for those interested during Hulkageddon: Griefer Geddon
Word of warning however, Griefer Geddon may place you in a situation where your target ship may actually shoot back at you. As a result it is not intended as an activity for anyone who doesn't have a spine. |

I agree with several people: CCP needs to focus most of eve's recources on FIS, but the development of WIS still needs to continue, just as a slower and more efficient pace.

You know what i do not get?
When you first found out about EvE-online it must have occurred to you that there is simply no 100% safe-spot within EvE.
I can not get into my head that there are people missing that particular message n each and every advertisement.
Everything you can read about EvE or find on youtube, anything, will show you that your stuff can be blown up.
That said, one could make an argument that hulkageddon kind of falls under grieffing, yet its also not a problem at all to argue it adds to the sanbox game and immersion to the backstory and gameplay of EvE.
It must have gotten through to you that it is the players within a sandbox that will create the content (not talking tooling
here but the actual gameplay).
Than an other issue.
There is this event called Grieffergeddon and myself recently setup the hillbillageddon event and you know what....
Grieffergeddon has a few participants, hillbillageddon still none. (The latter partly due to me posting on alt and its the first introduction of this particular event)
But i can safely say:
The parties that "should" be interested seem to be in stasis or something or actually did miss the message when signing up that one
could loose his/her stuff, even in hi-sec.
And believe me, i have tried to reach you guys, if not choosing to participate in the event than trying to show you how you could also have fun with this hulkageddon event.
Ive flown around for 2 weeks 130 jumps a day to get people interested......
seriously....
There is even an thread 20 pages thick about it.
I have nothing against miners, nor pro anything.
Its a sandbox, and everyone should just play this game in whatever way they want to......make their own rules etc.
But you cant ignore the fact you are playing in a sandbox where you can loose stuff everywhere....its not kept a
secret by any means.
Maybe this game just isn't for you?
If it is, i would advise you to accept your stuff is at risk or .....create your own game within EvE to have a laugh with hulkageddon participants or do something entirely different.
You cant have missed the fact that actions from players effect the "lives" of all other players, its the very nature within this sandbox.

It's interesting to see people behave in this sort of way. You're unsubbing; ok great now youre not only succumbing to the predations of other gamers and their choice of entertainment in a sandbox environment. Youre also willling to make yourself suffer more by taking away one of the things that you enjoy in life.
In my opinion this kind of behavior, sticking your head in the sand and refusing to participate in the world, is futile and pointless. People that do this should be bled form the system. You either capitalize on the vacuum created or you dont. The doors, so far, only open once a year on this sort of thing. Add to that the change in meta-0 drops and youve got yourself a ripe situation to make a lot of money in the coming weeks.
But I guess Im one of the few that bothered to NOT stick their heads in the sand to see what potential awaits. Yes I am a miner; im relatively new to the game, and yes I have an alt that will be doing it's fair share of pvp when its ready. Need the money first when starting. Cant get that with whining.

back in the day ...when i wor a lad  there was a ccp organised event called "whacky races " which i participated in. essentially what it involved was starting off in empire and doing a 30/40 round trip going through lowsec and nullsec . now everyone involved new exactly what was involved so imagine the gate camps we had to negotiate then ! this was well before bubbles came into the game .
tldr many lolz were had both by the racers and by the campers . empire miners know when its happening so if your that worried then just safe up ! it`s not rocket science tbh alternatively test your " boots of escaping " skills and lol at the wanna be gankers trying to take you down by using the tools at hand .
tbh i think personaly this should be a good laugh and look forward to watching the fraps on youtube |

Seeing miners whine about a group of players creating bigger demand is just too good.
Miners in particular is better off with great demands, so I guess OP doesn't fully understand that unless ships die, his mining will be worthless.

I don't think that the real issue/problem is the "Goons excuse" , this game is an open game,

My dear, you fail to understand what EVE is. Jita Burn and Hulkaggedon is the kind of event which make EVE so fun.
By the way, CCP didnt stop Jita Burn or any of the previous Hulkaggedon. Will they stop the fifth? No.

i mined a few million isk worth of ores in a rokh so far during hulkageddon, sure its slower, but i caught up on air crash investigation episodes lol.
I still am curious to know if that random battleship i saw that time was coming to blow me up or not... lol. They never took the shot /shrug |

Must say putting the hulks away and doing missions is a nice change, we are even doing a bit of PVP but once HG is over we are still going back to mining as its what we love to do in eve and nothing will change that. |
