yet halo 3 made MOAR MUNNEY!!!! YAAAY!!!! halo 3 PWNZZZ!
why do you hate halo so much lofty? It's not like CS:S was anything other than CS with added bling. Its still awesome at what it does though.
Because he is a boy who is fanboy and seems to have little time away from his computer.
No, because the Halo series is good (and I agree that it is good.) But that is all it is. It brings nothing new to the genre, yet leaves little more to be wanted. It's not as good as all the *******s hype surrounding it, and it's bringing alot of attention to the wrong aspects of gaming. Gaming shouldn't be about how much it made in the first week of sales, it should be about the innovations brought in through a way of telling a story in a very interactive way.
agreed 100%. which is why I HATE EA. I disagree in that halo is not groundbreaking though. it was not any single addition that made it good, but the je ne sais qua it added to the entire feeling of FPS games, the total package. This is why halo 3 gets good reviews: everyone agrees that no single element is anything special, its the package as a whole that breaks the mold.
It was not the first in anything but meshed strategic weapon choice, reloading shields and no armor, life pickups, hot buttoned nades, and a very well balanced set of maps and weapons into a package that transcended its lowly roots. The AI was better than anything before it too, which made SP more of a blast.
I do agree with you that the hype is somewhat unbearable though. still, I giggle like a schoolboy everytime I watch one of the new museum trailers: i find it awesome that bungie inputs so much into the backstory. every one of those trailers is like a real life insight into the world that bungie has created. ----------------------------------------------- "post with your main. delete your alt, you sad little exploiting metagamer."

Edited by: Evenfall Phoenix on 27/09/2007 23:54:48 played it, and it was not good. All in all Gears of War had better graphics, better story, better AI, better levels, was much more innovative, and unlike Halo Gears actually did do something new.
Halo brought nothing new to the table, not one thing. Maybe in terms of a console, but it's nothing that computer games haven't been doing for years.
Overall I was not impressed with the mere 6 hours or so it took me to beat the game, even on legendary mode. All I saw was hype ... lots and lots of hype.
