Hey guys/gals
Ive been looking at other thorax pvp setups and they are all in conclusive tbh. I plan on using mine with a friend who also has a thorax, with a small blaster setup and tank. I am planning on having no tank so here is my propposed set-up
high = 5x Heavy Neutron Blaster II (Will these fit? if not the Heavy Ion Blaster II) Med = 10mn MWD II, Disrupter, Web Low = 3 Magstab II, DC II, Tacking Enhancer II
Drones 5 x Vespa ECM Drones (to help against the no tank)
This setup will be running along side a similar thorax but using small blasters, a scram and tank with medium hammerhead II drones, my setup will be pure DPS, i have a couple of days b4 i can fly the rax which is when i will be testing my setup agaist some friends to fine tune it, would be greatfull of any input in the meantime
Thanx

goodluck,
Gank: 5x Neutron blaster II
1x 10mn mwd 1x web 1x scram
3x MFS II 1x RCU II 1x Damage control II
Electrons, plate, rep works fairly well in gangs for some damage and tank but the small blasterax exels at solo imhop.
btw. im never putting small blasters on my rax unless convinced otherwise or HellsKnights gives me a hug. i dont see either coming soon

Edit: Swap drones for whatever suits your taste, maybe Hammerhead II's.
Ion setup - Approx 193 DPS
You could consider this setup, which would approx 193.1 DPS and still has approx 134 PG & 10.25 CPU left over.
Thorax
Heavy Ion Blaster II [120xNull M] Heavy Ion Blaster II [120xNull M] Heavy Ion Blaster II [120xNull M] Heavy Ion Blaster II [120xNull M] Heavy Ion Blaster II [120xNull M]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Explosive hardener in place of EANMII setup - Still 193 DPS
Here's the resistances if you were to fit a Explosive hardener in place of one of the EANMII's. It depends which resistances are your priority I guess. A named active hardener would also fit in there if you wanted.
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Damage Control II Small Armor Repairer II Energized Reactive Membrane II
1524 shield, 3.59/s, E/T/K/Ex=12/29/47/64 2051 armor, E/T/K/Ex=74/58/58/66 1546.875 cap, +10.29/s, -34.996/s 1424.0 m/s 193.1 DPS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electrons & 800mm plate setup - 180 DPS & 4301 armor
Lastly, also, consider there are lots of good setups for this ship which involve fitting a plate. This setup still gives a healthy DPS of 182.

Capacitor Also bear in mind, all the setups will eat through your cap, so it might be worth considering switching one of the blasters for a NOS.... Depends how gung ho you want to go!
Hope that helps.

lol please Gladiator jonny and HK get a room ;)
Ive looked into the setup abit more and come up with this
High = 5x Heavy Ion II Med = Scram, Web and 10mn MWD II Low = 3 x Magstab II 2 x Tranking Enhacer II
5 Vespa ECM drones
I put thuis through my EFT and it gave me some good results, the volley damage is 736 i think and as i will be not on my own, there will be another thorax with me armed with more ecm/hammerheadII (depending on what we are hunting) and small blaster setup with Scram, web and MWD but using tank setup instead of DPS
What ya think

Those DPS numbers arent right. A thorax deals a lot more DPS than 180. Even when using light drones.
A belicose with a proper setup (heavy launchers, AC, medium drones) deals 275 dps...without damagemods or drones/heavy launcher DPS bonus.

Electrons standard mids pdu, dcu, 2x mfs, 1600mm RT
Works.
A MAR isntead of the pdu with a 800mm plate works too. -

Whatever, I used quickfit to format and give you some figures, fact is those setups do work well. Use a rax like these then judge.

At least consider changing your medslots. You don't necessarily need two scrams and two webs. Let your buddy fit that and you can fit two sensor damps and ecm drones.

That's probably the DPS before any skills are applied.
The only thing I will say on fitting a thorax is NEVER to fit small guns, period. You will die to the first competent thorax/vexor/rupture pilot that you encounter. Anyone that wants to fit small guns should use a vexor. The only point to using the Thorax is DAMAGE, and you will not get that without the ship's only damage bonus.

unfortunately your wrong, 1 vs 1 the small blaster and tank > gank or any setup with med guns.... i know it sucks.
in a gang however, gank rax and electron rax come into their own.

It depends on skills, but i disagree. Electron 2 + 1600mm plate will pwn small neut + 1600mm plate. IMO _________________________________________________ Breetime
