Easy to believe, the federation is made up of people from all empires.
Mordu's Legion takes people of all races and they are granted citizenship in the State at the end of their career. The State being the most reluctant empire to take on foreigners.
The Amarr convert people to their faith through evangelism, teachings, and slavery, all are welcome and with sufficient faith you can be almost as respected as a pure blood Amarr.
In fact only the Minmatar make it difficult with no backstory method of joining the empire, though of course one can role-play being adopted by a clan/tribe/family.
And the subfactions generally make it even easier.

The GMs couldn't work out who did it, so guess who they banned? Yeah, that's right. The black guy. I can't see how this sick treatment can be allowed to continue.

Politically correct bullcr@p like this makes my head hurt.
This is a SPACE game. I couldn't care less if my toon had squinty eyes and yellow skin or runs about whoopping with a tomahawk scapling corpses after the battle is over. Hell it could be 3 feet tall with a purple trunk with 3 eyes and a wang the size of a watermelon. I could care not a fig.
Take your real life insecurities about 'people of colour' elsewhere. Nobody here cares. (Except of course the indoctrinated ISD boys) We play to forget / escape this real life stupidity and tip-toeing around the 'sensitive' for a few hours a day. Go play in traffic.

Originally by: cal nereus Actually, cultural divisions are becoming more noticeable in this world of internet and technology. As multiculturalism is approached, specific groups begin to close off from the rest, preserving their unique culture. I'll tell you this much: if technology means getting rid of my unique culture, **** technology, I'd rather be back in the middle ages. But, since technology isn't getting rid of culture, and we will continue to have different races and different cultures well into the future, I'm not afraid.
yes, that is the way it happens. it is noticed now more than ever, so the mystery that builds culture is destroyed. history gets scrutinized and sometimes altered, things that define people from specific parts of the world become accessible to all and as such lose their definition. genetics tell us a story that cant be denied, we are all one people. our upbringing may be very different, but in the end we each have the capacity to be the other.
culture will not be lost totally, but it will lose its relevance as more and more cultures merge and blend with the cross breeding of races.

IRL I'm a black man, and I agree political correctness is out of control. It's not just a matter of people being 'sensitive", though. when people say that, it's been my experience that they put that label on us, so they get to make the little racist statements they want to make, and try to laugh it off as a "joke". It isn't. In any case, this is a game and race damn sure shouldn't matter in eve. And yes, I get the irony of posting this with an amarr character :)

The PC thing really hit home for me in high-school when a friend of mine was admitted to an Ivy League school. When he got there, he was bombarded with the fact that he was being included on various student committees because he was black and that this was somehow "diversity". The problem is that Brian grew up right next door to me. His father did pretty much the same job mine did and made about the same amount. His family life was exactly what mine was in a fairly well-integrated, middle-class, south Chicago suburb.
He told me he was constantly under pressure from the PC pinheads to give them the "black" point of view, when he had about as much in common with, say, inner city blacks as I do with rural trailer dwellers.
PC run amok indeed. And don't even get me started on the inherent racism of lowered expectations.
