Just wanted to echo KracKaTinny comments, from our side. It has been a very fun campaign. And that has nothing to do with the outcome, corp members will confirm I was raving about how much fun it was weeks ago. I was a bit gutted tbh to logon sunday and find everyone had finally surrendered.
There's a lot wrong with pos warfare and always has been but I do think the recent sov mechanic changes have spiced things up a lot. There's much more to it now that just jumping a capital fleet into your enemy's station and grinding it out for a week. Firstly we were forced to rush our (abortive) attack on V7 due to impending sov-3. Secondly the cyno-jammers and pos gunners give a huge defensive advantage forcing you to attack with a massive numerical advantage that's more in line with real-life parallels. It's unfortunate the nodes can't handle the load but hopefully that will improve. I cursed the jammer everytime it got in our way but together with jump bridges it's an excellent way of giving a defensive advantage (and forcing interesting cap vs non-cap battles) and I will learn to love it next time Tribute is invaded. In hindsight, after we worked through the difficulties, I don't think it needs weakening at all.
Getting the numerical advantage forced us to think outside the box and focus on the psychological aspect a bit more, attacking soft targets as well as disrupting supply lines, to break morale and reduce hostile numbers (ours did not increase, the peak for both sides was the evenly numbered 750-man battle in BKG some weeks ago when the node crashed). Imo we'd barely begun to explore the possibilities but I am confident future wars will see a lot more of it. And we had perhaps (?) the first proper seige of a non-station system in HB7. That fact alone is a thumbs-up for the sov changes.
Props to our adversaries, we had to switch up our game a few times to beat you and that kind of challenge is a lot of fun. As a member of RAWR I like to see our enemies crash and burn horribly but as a player it's especially sad to now see FATAL imploding. You guys gave us some good fights going back to our Fountain campaign and showed a real hardcore determination in defending Branch. I'll never forget the only time I ventured solo into the FATAL constellation at 4am, got camped, logged off, cooked a curry, ate it, logged back on and made a run for the gate only to find twice as many waiting patiently for me on the other side. Ouch _
