I was one of the two dictor pilots in the initial 10 man PA gang that cought the nyx with its pants down :) i can confirm that we held the nyx for at least 15 minutes before tri came to reinforce us. a thanathos valiantly came to help the nyx pilot but we managed to kill that also.

Ok, I'll try to give a short battlereport:
PA went out to roam with a gang of 2 Flycatchers, 1 Caracal, 1 Hawk and 5 interceptors.
Our commander 1st located the Nyx and expected it to be at a POS. He was quite surprised to find it in a belt, ratting. He called the gang in and bubbles were deployed.
The pilot tried to fight us with all types of drones but in the end ran out of them as we killed them very fast and efficiently.
As soon as we were sure we could keep him nailed we contacted TRI. The system had a cyno jammer so Battleships were called for. The response was fast (about 20 minutes) and sufficient.
A Thantos tried to bail the Nyx out but failed.
End of the story: Don't feel safe in Eve ever!

With all these capitals going boom, maybe they were nerfed just a little bit too much? I mean, dictors > titans now? MoM held 30 minutes by 2 dictors? For the cost of the super capitals, there is no way a 20M ship should have such power over it. Get a capital warp scrambler in to the game or something CCP, but dictor holding a MoM for 30 minutes? ThatĘs ridicules.

The guy had no utility drones whatsoever... if he had used webbers/vampires he could have killed us off easily.
And the puny amount of conventional drones he had was a joke aswell.

If you look at his fitting you'd understand why. Don't mean this in a smack-talk way at all, but if he was fitted correctly then he would have been out of there 30 minutes before we arrived.

I think you have just hit the nail squarely on the head there.
Props to TRI & co for spotting an opportunity and capitalising on it effectively - that your pilots had the confidence to engage an MS without any cap support and the intel network to get regular support in quickly enough speaks volumes for how well TRI has it's sh*t together.
Commiserations to Cole - losing ships in belts to gank squads is a lesson we all have to learn in eve, you have paid a harsher price than most to learn it.

I can't believe a Nyx would run out of drones. You drop a fighter and it lets you fit 200 heavies, 500 mediums or 1000 lights.

That's actually a comment worth consideration. However, I would say that flying a dictor requires some fairly intensive skill training and they are fragile things. All the dictor can do is tackle a mothership, it cannot kill it. And there's the balance in my view; A dictor cannot kill a mothership but it can make it vulnerable.
Small roaming inty gangs with dictors run by capable FC's remain a terrifying force.
As for the Nyx pilot, man, what must he be feeling like. Losing a mothership whilst ratting in a constellation capital. I actually feel sorry for the guy.

The caracal was high on killmail because he was shooting at the nyx for the 15 mins [or longer cant remember] it took to get a bs force up there. When we did arrive in system we finished off the thanatos first then concentrated on the nyx . So the caracal and other small ships were firing on the nyx for atleast 20 mins before the bs's opened fire. And once our gang opened fire it was less then five minutes before the nyx melted.

Cole was mining for at least 2months+ in this system , i don`t know how that can get un-notice by MM leadership while a dude is mining whit a super cap and couple of hulks(maibe alts) for a better tommorow so don`t put all the blame on 1 single person , if indead he was mining and none in MM noticed a Nyx mining every day in WH- i think MM has a real problem.The fact that he could not kill the pa inty gang and dictor bubbles -badly fitted no smartbombs,small amout of drones, no utility drones. The fact that he didn`t got help from Bkg-He's fault thinkin he could do one prob or that Pa are harmless and eventualy he`l get out.Tbh he coulda logged off and be safe like other dudes did.I hope Cole will get in a new Nyx (pretty sure he's in a new one already) and show ppl that he can do Whatever he wants whit he's isk and use it how the think best, again not100% Cole's fault he lost that Nyx mining and hope we see a post by him here(if he's allowed to do that).

It's one thing to "know" and quite another to tell a director what to do with "his" ship which was privately financed. And yes it IS 100% his fault he lost it mining. It damn sure isn't anyone's fault who was in BKG.

Cole's a big boy. The choice and responsibility was all his.
As i said pretty sure he`l get over it fast,but honestly how could u guyz not help him if you had a fleet 15jumps out knowin that he stood ground for 20mins+, he didn`t said anything about it ? no-one saw the big blob in wh- ?

I can't say what the situation was when the nyx was lost. It was lost during a time I wasn't home for about 8 hours. All I can say for sure is that if I ever own a mothership (could get one, don't want one), it will never be found in a belt ratting or mining.
Yes..I should think this is plenty of proof, if any was needed (and none was) that we aren't "napped."
