A small PA gang with dictors caught the nyx and bubbled it about 30-40 minutes before reinforcements from tri arrived. That caracal has probably been shooting the nyx for like 40 minutes.

Surprised he had that much ammo tbh.

He wasnt afk, but all of the active pvper pilots in MM was in bkg on an op I would imagine(although bkg is only 15 jumps away...).

40 minutes was probably an exaggeration. I was part of the first wave of reinforcements and we had to make about 25 jumps in nano-hacs/recons. So 20 minutes was probably more accurate.

I think you have just hit the nail squarely on the head there.

Props to TRI for spotting an opportunity and capitalising on it effectively - that your pilots had the confidence to engage an MS without any cap support and the intel network to get regular support in quickly enough speaks volumes for how well TRI has it's sh*t together.

Commiserations to Cole - losing ships in belts to gank squads is a lesson we all have to learn in eve, you have paid a harsher price than most to learn it.

Ok, I'll try to give a short battlereport:

PA went out to roam with a gang of 2 Flycatchers, 1 Caracal, 1 Hawk and 5 interceptors.

Our commander 1st located the Nyx and expected it to be at a POS. He was quite surprised to find it in a belt, ratting. He called the gang in and bubbles were deployed.
The pilot tried to fight us with all types of drones but in the end ran out of them as we killed them very fast and efficiently.
As soon as we were sure we could keep him nailed we contacted TRI. The system had a cyno jammer so Battleships were called for. The response was fast (about 20 minutes) and sufficient.
A Thantos tried to bail the Nyx out but failed.

End of the story: Don't feel safe in Eve ever!

No Sith we didnt know about it and were 24 jumps away in 4dt attacking a cyno jammer tower with dreads in seige. There was no way we could help him. You had a 2nd Nyx coming in but he showed up just a few minutes late.

Coles a big boy. That Nyx was personally owned by 4 guys who mined all the minerals themselves, and Im sure they will replace it if they want to. That Nyx got plenty of kills over its time, so all is good.

While I don't intend to tell capital pilots what to do, I do think that it would be kind to let this pilot know that there is a capital build for mining... it is called a Rorqual and is quite new. A bargain compared to a Nyx, available at about 2.5 - 3 bill. ISK.

There seems to be 8 modules total in highslots (Nyx only has 6 high slots). Also, the killmail claims there are 6 Remote ECM Burst I modules fitted. I was under the impression you could only fit one of these per ship.

Now, I'm not making accusations, but it seems this killmail is not entirely valid.
