Is all war so frustrating?

Curzon Dax The Ninja Coalition	Posted - 2007.09.30 01:12:00 - [1] Dodiez and I were sitting here complaining to each other about how bored we were, and I figured I would inquire to the general community: I'm in the middle of my first war. Our little corp was wardecced by a mercenary corp "The Diabolic Abstraction." At first glance, they severely outnumber us, so we hired mercenaries for support, expecting a rollicking good time, constant pew-pew, and nerve wracking action. Day 1 of the war: We asked them for a brawl - our strength was 2 cruisers and 4 frigates. We went to lowsec, and they came with an interceptor and a Huggin - we killed both. A cloaking Apocalypse entered system and cloaked, a Nighthawk came and camped a gate two systems over, and after about 4 more hours of waiting around for them to summon up strength and annihilate us, we went to bed. Day 2 of the war: We sat outside of the stations where they were docked (4-5 of us) and played cards. They entered our public channel and smacked. Lots. About how we were Gy, R-tarded little b*ches (insert lots of bad words). We started banning them from out public channel for being kiddies. Day 3 of the war: 2 of our mercs got popped, no more action seen. Lots more watching them sit in stations. Also more smack. Day 4 of the war (today): More smack from these guys about how they taught our mercs what real mercs are like and they're going to wtfpwn us. I asked them for a fight, a 1v1, my Arazu vs his (Getumzz) Tempest and uncloaked. He docked. This isn't a personal rant about the guys who wardecced us; I'm frustrated about the prosecution of this war. Its my first war, I was expecting rampant violence and bloodshed and am sitting here frustrated and quite unhappy, simply because the war consists of smacktalk and boredom. Is this representative of Empire wars? Is this an anomaly? This is my first time "embracing PvP" outside of my Battleship Championship and I'm really feeling like I'm being cheated out of fun. For the community at large - is this typical or atypical? Day 3

Look for small gangs of theirs kill one then run. Scan down their ratters as you enter a system, kill one then run. Kill all their miners. Make no part of a massive empire safe. I believe from what I know of your corp your all about the cov-ops, i'm all about my cepters personally but I can think of at least half a dozen tactical advantages you could use in well thought out gangs against a 0.0 empire to seriously annoy them and actually make yourself felt. Think a little out the box, and wardec people worth wardeccing, i've never heard of that merc corp you've decced, its a indication that its probably not worth doing in my opinion. Edit : If you absolutely must dec a empire corp/alliance i'd recommend the bigger alliances = more targets. Do some research first, work out their logsitical routes and paths most travelled before doing it. Never dec for more than a week if you have the choice (in my line of work you don't)

In eve war is only approached 1 way: Complete gankage or complete dock/cloak/POS smacktalkage. If one side cant WTFPWN the other in seconds then neither will engage, even if the releative strength of all forces is equal and the outcome not immediately apparent. I gave up war... too boring, of the many boring things Eve has to offer. Unfortunately it's the best MMO out there. - Life is pain...anyone who says differently is selling something.

Move to an NPC controlled part of 0.0 that is relatively busy, and set up a base in an npc station. 2. Don't be blue with anyone. 3. Run around, be stealthy, and pick off every target you can, like good Ninjas, while dodging the big fleets. 4. You will have a nice state of constant war with lots of fights and and lots of targets. And if the targets dry up, just move to a different npc area.
