To be honest we should launch or sonsider building then launching a small ship/probe for these kind of things, just to make us rest better at night if thats all it ends up as.
A thing that can move around the solar system to some degree to an asteroid, then continuously fire a laser in its side to produce thrust on the asteroid.
After a year or so that would have changed its course considerably, problem solved

On the other hand I would personaly force all of Britian to bow down to me as their new King, and then Conquor the French!!
Then the rest of the world ofc, just to say in heaven that I beat Gengis Khan's record of largest contiginous empire, right at the end.

Given the replies to the topic, would people be in favour of an international effort to get a few nukes or a laser satelite like mentioned earlier into orbit so as to intercept anything we may spot a little on the late side?
