could you please recommend me one?
Is it the crow? Artyclaw? Cruisader? Taranis?
I know there's no 'best' one, but which are more suitable for solo roaming and generally looking for trouble?

Beamsader, however you will get the smack down/have to run away from any half-decently setup Railranis, should you ever meet the 6 only pilots that actually fly them. Claw was great too, pre-nano ***.

Rail-Ranis. tbqh will wipe the floor with most of the beamsader setups I see and also no web lol.
Good luck killing intys with no web, anyone with half a brain will bounce out of scram range and/or run back to the gate.
Setup a taranis with 125mm rails, damage control, rep, webby and be top of the inty food chain. Just make sure you fight inside web range as your aim, just because you have rails fitted does not mean you**** around at 15km.

My favorite solo dogfighter is actually the Ares. It doesn't do very much damage, but it is fast and cheap and can run a very nice tank. It's basically similar to a Crusader, except it trades damage for missiles (which give you access to some interesting dogfight techniques) and runs the targeting range out another 10km.
My favorite thing about it? "Easy meat" syndrome. "Oh, look! An Ares! My rail Taranis/Crow/destroyer will wipe the floor with it!" 
Everyone commence to laughing now...
