Agreed, if you are having issues with >>your<< isp, then it's up to you to contact them and sort out the issue, not ccp. It's not like they don't have enough to do with people complaining about jita etc...

My ISP is working for everything BUT eve so in my opinion it is a problem that CCP should investigate.

We can try to look into it if you give us character names of those affected, but we can't really control the internet.. yet.. so you'd have better luck talking to your ISP if a large amount of people using the same ISP are affected.
It's also better for you, as their customer, to contact their support. Since we (CCP) isn't their customer they don't really have to help us.

Wrangler there have been a large number of threads on these forums over the last month or so regarding connection issues specifically between Tiscali, Eclipse and EVE. If you could spare 5 minutes and check the Known issues forum you'll find a bunch on the front page. The names you'll need to check on are all in there. You will also see that most of those involved have been ticketing their ISPs for some time and getting very little feed back from them or CCP staff in the relevant threads.
Palm offs like "It's also better for you, as their customer, to contact their support. Since we (CCP) isn't their customer they don't really have to help us." are not exactly helpful and sit uncomfortably alongside the deeply insightful and highly helpful comments of Sheriff Jones and his little chums.
The OP and many of the rest of us who are being affected are becoming increasingly frustrated by this issue and most of those who are posting regarding this issue have more trust and faith in CCP to sort this out than our ISP's. Clearly there is an problem between the ISPs and CCP, what is unclear is where the problem is. Having CCP talk to the ISPs and sort the problem out is an obvious route to take.
Those affected are paying customers of CCP and loyal members of your community and would appreciate their community manager taking 5 minutes to look into the matter and maybe getting some of this techie friends to do the same and maybe give some feedback on the ongoing issue which just might be solvable by your company.

A working AOL connection? Now that's worthy of investigation. Something very strange must be going on -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

It isn't a 'palm off' whatever one of those is. It's an accurate statement..or maybe you don't know how the Internet works?
The Internet is a huge game of pass the parcel (or packet in fact). You hand it to your ISP(a). Your ISP hands it to another ISP(b). That ISP hands it to another ISP(c). That ISP(c) hands it to CCP's ISP(d) and they send it to CCP's servers.
The problem (the bit you seem not to understand) is that although the above example has four links in the chain you are only paying for two of them and CCP are also only paying for two of them.
The link (b)<->(c) is not being paid for either by you or CCP.
Furthermore:
You are not paying for (c)<->(d).
CCP is not paying for (a)<->(b).
It's also worth noting that while only you are affected by faults at (a)<->(b) a huge number of people would be affected by a fault at (c)<->(d).
What this means is that if the fault lies with the connection that CCP is responsible for the forums would be creaking and groaning under the wheight of tens of thousands of people complaining about connectivity issues.
The fact that it isn't strongly suggests that the the fault lies closer to you. Specifically it implies that your ISP is failing to pass Eve packets outside it's own network. If so then it is a matter for you and your ISP to resolve. CCP will do what they can to help because it's in their interest to assist but getting all shirty and demanding they help is innappropriate. You are are responsible for your choice of ISP and if your ISP is failing to provide you with the service you need you should be the one to take them to task over it. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

if your ISP is blocking connection, then you can either find an ISP that will not block, or set up a proxy server so you can connect without being blocked

Keep in mind that in many cases ISPs will not even talk to someone who is not their customer. In a recent issue where there were some false positive virus issues there were at least two major American ISPs who would not even talk to ccp about the issue because they were not account holders with that company. CCP can only do so much, they cant make and ISP do anything, and if the issue is with the ISPs system then CUSTOMERS need to call and get something done.
In short, take responsibilty for yourself, and do something helpfull, dont just complain.

how does one set up a proxy server?
not too heavy with the jargon now
