There is a lot of cane info on that post.
I run L3's in mine. Fit like this:
6x 220 scouts 2x med nos
1x 10mn ab t2 1x 90% web 2x cap recharger 2
2x med armour repairer t2 3x active armour hardeners (kinetic/thermal/explosive) 1x amar navy energized adaptive nano membrane (t2 will work)
rigs: cap circuit explosive pump nano pump
Puts all my resists over 74.81279364857326457823645% with compensation skills.
Tanks any level 3 while watching ****.
And who dosen't like autos?

If you run level 3s, you basically don't even need to tank your cane. I ran with this:
x6 720mm Artillery II - Depleted Uranium (for all missions, noob? yes.) x2 Whatever
x1 10mn AB II x1 Medium Shield Booster II x2 Whatever (tracking computers, or hardeners for Sanshas)
x3 Gyrostabilizer x2 Power Diagnostic Unit x1 Damage Control II
x6 Light Drones
The idea being that the majority of missions, the ships died well before they were in optimal. Mercenaries that used lots of missiles died before they got past the medium booster. Basically, 1-3 guns killed any frig or destroyer, 6 guns killed most cruisers, and made short work of battlecruisers.
In the highlight of my level 3 insanity I dropped the shield tank altogether for sensor boosters and nanos/overdrives where the PDU and suitcase were. Cruised around at 1000m/s sniping... those were the days. Then I sold my soul and bought a Raven.

What Vitreal said...use Artillary and you need not go near the rats. Kite them all and use drones for smaller stuff. Most times i didn't even have a chance to launch drones i killed 'em so quick. Try using a LSE2 and an Invuln/hardener in mids and Gyros/tracking mods/OD2/Nano's in lows for Angels...works a treat.
Lol and then sell your soul for a Raven!! ------------------------------------------------ 'The thing always happens that you really believe in... and the belief in a thing makes it happen' - Frank Loyd Wright |

Armor tank, definitely.
I run a somewhat strange in your face AC Hurricane setup, I'm sure it isn't the most effective but it is certainly fun and is able to run level 3 blockade remarkable effectively due to it's high max speed ( 936m/s ). However because it uses an oversized AB it takes about 1 minute to get to max speed.
6x220mm Autocannons ( named ) 2xHeavy Missile Launcher ( named )
1x100MN AB II 1xStatis Webifier ( named ) 2xCap Recharger II
1xMed Armor Repairer II 1xCap Power Relay II 4xRat specific active hardeners*
*For Kin/Therm enemies I run 2xThermal Hardeners and 2xKinetic Hardeners. For all damage types I run 1xThermal,1xKinetic,1xExp and a Damage Control II. For EM/Therm I only need 1 EM and 2 Thermal and put something else, like a Gyro or a speed mod ( Nano/Inertial Stab or Overdrive ).

For missions tank with shields together with artilery 'cause you rarely need web or scrambler/disruptor in missions. For pvp use armor tankink together with autocannons 'cause 95% of pvp battles takes place in the range of max 25 km...(the warp disrupt range) So, for pve: 720 mm (or 650mm if cant afford or dont have skills) + 2 standard missiles large shield booster II (or medium shield booster II if you dont have skills for the big one), termic and kinetic amplifier, sensor booster (raplaceble with magnetic scatering field) 3 gyrosII, 3 tracking enhancers II, 1 medium repair (or reactor control unit) rigs: ancilary curent router if you wanna fit better, 2 ccc I ammo: for generally use depleated uranium, for distance (proton for tech 1, and tremor for tech2)
PS: please use the search engine next time and read the damn posts about what you need to find out !

qft, my setup never failed me. i was a pansy and almost always used the 2x hardeners as opposed to tracking computers / sensor boosters. My highs were either assaults for frigs that managed to get in close or heavies depending on my mood. for pve, there's no need to armor tank at least for 3's.

Edited by: Kelbesque Crystalis on 02/10/2007 17:25:12 75% of the missions, it doesn't mater, as you wont break sheilds even without repping. I usually just run with a MARII as backup on those.
For the ones that do need a tank, you could go either way depending on the damage type. For Angels, using natural resists of shields is a good idea and you get by with just a shield booster. For Sanshas, armor all the way. I choose to armor tank for my missions since my skills were higher and never had a problem. I keep notes on which ones actually need tanking, and fill my lows with gyros/tracking enhancers for those that dont.
For the super heavy damage missions (I ran blockaide-gurista last night. You need to tank heavy kin & therm) i needed 4xhardeners, a DCII, and a MARII. I doubt you'd have the slots to shield tank that, and i needed my AB to save my hide as well. I tired it intially with 2x them and 1 kin (as well as 1xkin and 2xthem) but the damage was spread out even. They spammed massive amounts of light missiles, so even my normal tactic of defenders was useless. Nothing worked until i had 6 full slots of tankage.

Armor tank, save your mids for AB/cap rechargers/webby. ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

well the hurricane is just one of those mim ships that you can go ither way. i guess it just depends on how good you sheild or armer skills are.

Single rep armor, dual hardener tank is all it takes for level 3 missions. Slap on some 720s and a couple of tracking comps and you'll waste 80% of the missions at lock range before you're even into armor.
