after mpire + fatal + cow etc paid razor/mm to move out of branch it seems that they "scrambled fatal freighters for no reason" and refused to let them go.
Freighters + several bs reported lost :s
so much for the "respect" razor + mm said they had towards mpire, fatal, cow etc?

Technically I think the NAP was first violated yesterday when MPire warped a freighter to one of MM's POSs, the only one without a scrambling battery, and it died. I don't know if it couldn't turn around in time or the pilot was asleep but lmao

UKC were informed earlier this evening that the NAP was due to end earlier than had been agreed due to parts of the surrender agreement not being forthcoming by some of our allaince at the sepcified time.
We decided to evacuate the last of our gear earlier than was planned. We knew the risk and knew that we may not be able to get our freighters out to empire before the new dealine.
As far as i was aware, we were not carrying anything that was covered under the surrender agreement in any of the freighter.
We were aware of a large hostile fleet ahead of us on our route. We had also been told that they were planning to shoot us - this was AFTER the new deadline.
We decided to take an alterantive route. Our freighters jumped into the system and a request was made for us to stop them and be scanned. They were scrambled to prevent warp-off and duly scanned. Both of thes actions were seen as hostile as the request had not been made clearly enough that they were only looking for banned items. Our FC ordered the destruction of the scanning ship.
Nervousness in twitchy fingers on both sides ensued and battle commenced, the result of which was the loss of the 3 freighters plus their contents and other ships.
Now, you can put whatever spin you want on this, but, afaik, these are the facts of the matter.
Some posters in this thread really need to remember that this is a game! Nothing else!!

My guess would be that he's talking about the outpost FATAL put up a few days before the surrender? Or maybe that's what their POS equipment was worth..

I agree that it was incredible stupid.
What could have been gained by it???
1) Assume that the cargo was all fine, then scanning should has been okay. So no reason to prevent scanning.
2) Assume that the cargo was not fine, then shooting down the scanning ship would have only alerted the enemy even more - which it actually did with the result we have.
But in both cases shooting down the scanning ship was a mistake. Especially with the knowledge of a hostile gang around!
This loss surely leaves an unhappy bad taste for Fatal. Not only did they lose the war and had to leave, but they also lost now a freighter convoy. One could feel sorry for them.
Nothing is that bad that it cannot become worse...

lol that thought crossed my mind to
I dont get it, can you put it in laymen's terms?
well they're leaving the north with all their stuff, that "would" probably have been used against the south imho, however, that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Originally by: SpaceMoose it was an incredibly stupid/arrogant decision to have shot the scanning frig.
Lol? It's standard procedure to check freighters that you are escorting off your land just to make sure exactly what they are taking with them, as it was part of the original cease fire.
It's highly possible that the freighters were loaded with pos equipment that would be used to launch attacks into the south or support bob- It looks pretty dodgy when the alliances currently at your complete mercy try don't let you scan their cargo.

This is a very confusing situation that would have been much easier dealt with if FATAL Alliance had simply honored the agreement that they said they would honor.
