What skills increase the ammount of power output you have? I just got a Kestrel from the missions and have found that I dont have enough power to fit very much onto it, leaves me with the option of having to fly my condor until I can figure out how to get more power out of this thing. Thanks for the help

Reactor control units
EDIT: Both are low slots. A lot of shield-tanked ship setups involve PDSs, because they add a significant amount to shield regen rate (always good), cap regen rate (larger boosters) AND powergrid (larger everything).

No, these are the best grid upgrade modules for frigates:
Auxilliary Power Controls
They give you a set amount (10 or more) instead of a percentage of your existing grid - a good deal for frigates, but not for bigger ships.
Skillwise you'll need Energy Management 4 and Engineering 3.

shield upgrades also help reduce powergrid need for shield stuff like extenders and boosters. other then that biggest ones are engineering(increases powergrid) and advanced weapon upgrades(lowers powergrid need for turrets and launchers)

Additionally there is a powegrid increasing rig. Although its far more expensive than the other options.

yes, but no drawbacks on it AND it frees up a lowslot as well for another damage mod for example! fit bigger/more guns and get a free damage mod to boot!
