Unreal 3 system requirements
OK, not to bad. Although I am pretty sure even on the recommended it's gonna run at 20 fps if your lucky.
Needless to say a duo-core and a 8800/1950 would be the real world preffered videocards to get good frame rates with good quality settings.
But check out this screenshot and tell me you don't need a high powered machine to render this lol: Mean looking mofo

Oh yeah, to me Crysis is the game to set benchmarks by, I am looking forward to that game more than any else. FarCry was a great freaking game, ran super smooth on my POS computer back in the day and the outside environments were absolutely stunning. And I know with Crysis that it's going to look even better.

The image link is complete fail. You manage to just link the thumbnail
But I must say that is pretty low system requirements. It probably ends up looking like complete ass compared to a more powerful computer though.

I think I meet those requirements... or I would if my display wasn't so big.

I've pretty much got recommended, a bit better, except i have no idea how my 8600gt is going to perform.
Considering Bioshock runs like a dream on max settings, and UT3 is a LOT more optimized, i think i should be OK.

Care to suggest some new ideas? 99.9% of movies are just remakes in different settings with different twists / people. 99.9% of games are like that too ---

Crap, sorry for link. Check the article out, it has the full size pic
And if you can run BioShock, you should be able to play this with no problems. BioShock is based on the Unreal 3 engine so all should be well.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory runs theoretically on UE3 aswell, so be careful with those statements :P
Rainbow 6: Vegas would be a better benchmark because of all the detailed open areas. Given that BioShock is designed to only accomodate about 5-10 character models on screen at the same time, coupled with the very tight spaces throughout, i don't think you can really compare them.
If anything, it will run a bit faster than R6V did i reckon.

Crysis pretty much needs a computer from the future to run properly.
The dude from ctrl alt delete appearantly tried the multiplayer beta - He got horrible FPS. And his rig is pretty much mindblowing (Dual geforce 8800ultras and whatnot)
So yeah, making a computer for Crysis is pretty much impossible.

Well I have seen the gameplay videos of Crysis and I would LOVE to know what system they had it running on, that way I can set a goal for the next computer setup I need to buy. I plan on building a new computer in a few weeks and I plan on going with duo-core Intel (cpu somewhere in the $200 range no more) and probably a 8600 (around $170 or so) plus a new mobo+memory.
I wanted to go with a 8800 but I know that even that won't handle game like Crysis very well and I want something that I won't need to upgrade for 2 years or so. So I might go ahead and spend a bit more on a cpu and get the 8600 to tide me over until I find a card that will play Crysis/BioShock/EVE direct X 10 after this year.

I bet it wont run for **** on the recommended sysreqs. These things are kept as low as possible to ensure more sales. an ATI 1300??? my PC has troubles with STALKER on that GPU ffs, let alone U3. ----------------------------------------------- "post with your main. delete your alt, you sad little exploiting metagamer."

A little birdy told me that my setup runs Crysis quite well on medium settings, and passable on high. *wink*

Sorry, that won't be possible. I have a faster system than that and I still struggle to run Crysis on high. It's an absolute BEAST of an engine. VERY few people have a machine capable of running that thing on high with decent framerates, and I don't think anyone's got Very High to work yet. ---

Sorry to say that it *is* possible, from personal experience, if you didn't get the hint already.
On medium it runs acceptable - 25-40 fps, enough to be somewhat competitive in Crysis. On high it only runs on 15-25, but enough for SP me thinks. Very high is disabled at the moment, no one *can* get it working yet :P
