R4vkh4	Posted - 2007.10.05 06:52:00 - [1] I have played this game a few years ago when it was in beta and hated it. I have just recently started a trial again and was starting to like it. I wanted to give it a chance but on my second day i got a mission in 0.4 from an agent. I denied it and tried to find a corp that could help me, so i found a corp and had 15 jumps. I realised at some point i was in 0.4 and 0.5 space so i told the corp leader if he enjoyed doing that to players in trial. Then it took 5 seconds and my ship was destroyed and then pod killed, and i realised how i missed the bus on this game. I tried to like it but the game is designed for the vets. It's obvious ill never be competitive and i dont like how things in eve work. Travelling time is awfull, the UI has bugs. There is network lag and the community is childish. A gm was just tolerating insults on me, and then blaming me. I have filled petition but support is non-existant. As much as i like stats, strategy, tactics and mmo's, this game is not for me, i'm too late on the bus and i have lost interest quickly with the recent events. I dont like the limitations of this game neither. The design fails, too much warping and jumping, i have calculated once that i fought 3 minutes and a few seconds , and it took 12 minutes to loot things, and another 4 minutes to travel. Sorry but even though mmo's are timesink, i dont like timestretching that's unnecessary. At least the trial gave me a good idea that this game is not for me , even after multiple years, this 'revelation 2' in the end fails in my book and the game is obviously fully controlled by isk sellers and veterans dominating.

Your argument that it's for vets only is crap, i've been playing 5 months and I do fine. It's a hardcore game. If you do something stupid you get punished, quickly. It's also a sandbox. I dont see how you can be bad in a point and click game... there's not much skills involved in camping a gate and watching the overview. I had platinum insurance it's not the loss of the ship , it's everything combined. The gm powertripping, the bad community, the awfull progress, the travelling time, the fact that nobody is trustworthy and very arrogant corp people. Plus the network lag, the daily downtimes, the game bugs and UI annoyances. And the fact that most of the people here cant even say anything but go back to wow. I would like to thank everyone for confirming my beleifs haha.

I would like to thank everyone for confirming my beleifs haha. 1) The gm powertripping without seeing the entire convo (which you can't post) we can't really comment on this you don't even say what you were talking to a GM about anyway. 2) the bad community There is nothing wrong with the community inmy opinion there is so many nice people in eve its unreal. 3) the awfull progress you were here 2 weeks and got into a cruiser I would call that fairly good progress. 4) the travelling time this is a space game, believe me they could havemade it worse. if it was much faster we'd all pile into one system at a seconds notice and the game would feel really small. 5) nobody is trustworthy people in real life aren't trustworthy why would you expect them to be in a game? 6) network lag get out of jita perhaps? I never suffer lag expect when servers themselves have database issues ect which are fixed normally quickly. 7)the daily downtimes oh noes if they need to take it down they need to take it down it snot end of the world and they only take it down unscheduled when they have no choice. 8) game bugs all games have bugs, why not bug report them so they can be fixed but I can't think of any major game effecting bugs off top of my head. 9) UI annoyances at least explain what you don't like about the UI since while I could make some personal improvements myself there is nothing wrong overall with the UI its not like its totally flawed. There are thousands of corps eager for new players some evn bribe you to join. Thats why I find your story hard to believe. That and this is third such post of a similar tale in less than 3 hours. Same person trying to smeer methinks. Anyway, eve is not for everyone, if you don't like it, leave, don't expect a favourable reaction if you come onto the fan forum and start whinging like a girl.
