So I went shopping for some stuff, got a bunch of great expensive clothing. I was thirsty so I went to get a drink while standing in line I set down my "unsecure" bag next tome so that I could get my wallet. Before I know it a dude right next to me takes my bag. Crap I guess according to most of you tough luck for me. Nothing I can do now, even tho I saw him take it and it has my receipts and stuff in it. Worst of all its not a crime at all according to some nubs on this forum.
Stealing is stealing, and if you there to see it there should be a way to defend your stuff.

Quote: That is different from taking from ore cans. Those unsecure cans are JETTISON cans, which by definition means something that is thrown away or cast aside like garbage. If you had taken your stuff and thrown it in a trash can, you are basically saying you don't want it anymore and it us up for grabs.
Please thats the weakest logic one can make up to even attempt to excuse stealing. Space is not one giant trash cans just like earth is not one giant trash can. There are special places for trash so the space you in is in no way default trash location. Temp containers are jetted for temporary storage not to trash things, most people either dont take what they cant fit or dont bring anything with them to trash in space. That like setting your bag on a bench next to you, yeah thats trash instantly.

I can understand people taking ore when the person is not there, but stealing when its righ next to someone is crap. Yes everyone knows they werent meant for that but with 5km crap rule on giant cans its too much work to move around because they fill up way to fast. There are no excuses for stealing it. That dirt in the part is not public property but who ever owns the land. Same as roids they belong to the sovernty that controls that space, or players that control it.

The problem is that current concord law protects the theifs even though they are doing wrong. Its that simple, currently people have no legal way to deal with ore thiefs or corp theifs. The law has to change to give a real option to the victims, or the game dynamics must change to fix this problem. Game needs larger secure cans that can be linked or something, the demand is there for larger storage its amazing that no one has filled that market yet. We have giant battleships but cant come up with a modular secure can system.
