Hehe... so the actual battle reports for the night.

Bob first gets word that the Goonies (A.D.D. as they are)
are trying to work on finishing RISE again. We're very bored and amass a fleet of 55 to go down and take em on. No clue what goons have and expecting the normal 150, intel starts flowing in. Our fleet quicky arrives 5 jumps out of destination after a short speed bump on the way were we killed a lot of local Catch hostiles.

Intel comes back in, Goon gang of about 85, 1 jump from you, they know there's a roaming gang of something like 30-40 out there. Apparently, they figured their numbers are good enough and don't really press their eyes. Low and behold, we quickly arrive on their gate, half our fleet jumps into them.

Half the goons panic and engage, the other half turn tail and dive for the gate. "goon Brotherhood ftw".. oh yeah, and pandemic magically Safes... good job once again guys. Bob spends the next 20-30 min mopping up everything in site, something like 30 odd ships seen between the 6 killboards.. its' tough to scout them all. Bob and friends... 0 losses as far as I can see.

Goon forum spams go out to amass more people... the evil bobbits have come and struck us down. It's late and we really didn't plan to go back again.

Round 2 was just shear fun. GBC amasses a 45 man fleet, runs back down to feyth, another 31 jumps. This time, we know the goons have a spy on our ts, goons gang is 120, and have some carriers around. Rise has 35 on as well. Cool!

This 2nd GBC gang is like 25 hac size, and 5 bs, rest whatever. Goons have about 25 bs and support. Rise has about 7 bs, and support. We go in again, 2 diff gangs. Rise come to join us in p8, 1 system away. goons start flooding RIT with whatever can get there from the 3 systems they had people in.

Gate in RIT has about 70 hostiles, our gang is a bit scattered due to a pesky PL dictor. "F it, everyone on the gate jump in. Rest of you get in asap." "hold cloak, whoops, i somehow decloak... ok time to start the fight" By the time the entirety of the goon fleet took me down, we had a good 10 of their support down or dieing. By the time my pod warped out and back in, the entire support gang for the enemy was dead or warped off the gate.

After this, we had a few whoops moments again where we couldn't reposistion well. "Oh well, keep shooting." Numbers turn, and 4 outta our 5 bs were dead, so time to bail. We then crash the gate again, dunno why it wasn't bubbled, and jump through on contact. People misunderstand align for warp and start leaving... Whoops agian. So we skirmish a lil, goons forget to kill LadyScarlet, and even forget their terrific local humor about her. Surely we just got pwned.

First time I read this report I tought something was odd but just couldn't figure out what. Then I saw this GBC stuff, not so long ago it would of been called a BoB fleet.

I like how BOB doesn't include Rise into the GBC numbers, bur rather counts them seperatly now.

Round 2 was just shear fun. GBC amasses a 45 man fleet, runs back down to feyth, another 31 jumps. This time, we know the goons have a spy on our ts, goons gang is 120, and have some carriers around. Rise has 35 on as well. Cool!

This 2nd GBC gang is like 25 hac size, and 5 bs, rest whatever. Goons have about 25 bs and support. Rise has about 7 bs, and support...

First time I read this report I tought something was odd but just couldn't figure out what. Then I saw this GBC stuff, not so long ago it would of been called a BoB fleet.

the titan loss was from a combined effort of bother goonies and RA. you should also be aware if its not escaped you that its not just goonies that are in this war, a war that once D2 was involved in

What i am saying is that D2 had internal issues and MC's presense in the north put more presure on them and they probably folded from both of those issues causing them to much strife.

Honestly, the posting didn't really start until after this skirmish was over and bob (Yaay?) decided to engage those of us who regrouped and made it into the RIT triangle.

Here's a short timeline of events to clear things up for you:
- Yaay's gang engages us while we were outnumbered and not even formed up in P0, even busted our safe spot and caught a bunch of stupid goons who weren't aligned with our warp in interceptor. Our scout was sucking and we were sloppy after having a relatively uneventful convoy out to RISE space, our bad.
- Yaay makes a confidence boosting post on COAD
- Goons, KOS, and PL begin laying siege to RISE towers and disabling POS modules
- Yaay probably gets word that we have the gates into RIT relatively lightly defended (Frigs and Cruisers were pretty much all we had in RIT at the time, the BSes were 2 jumps out of RIT shooting towers) and decides to come back for round 2.
- Our scouts get the drop on their gang and the BSes get recalled to RIT to reinforce the support on the gate.
- Yaay's uncloaking 'oopsie' happens while the BS fleet is still en route to the P8- gate, and the fight starts.
- RISE fleet starts warping in to reinforce the gang jumping in, and everyone starts dying spectacularly, Goons and friends concentrating on the enemy BS fleet while the GBC concentrates on Goon support (I made a post in this very thread mid fight after my 3rd or 4th killmail hit my inbox)
- Smoke clears and we hold the gate, GBC fleet warps in and loses a few ships to minor skirmishing while we loot the field and we chase a bunch of them into P8- and then C-0 before giving up on them and going back to shooting RISE POSes. (We were apparently out of interdictors at this point, good on BoB's anti-support efforts, so it could have been a lot worse for them)
- Thread explodes after the irony of this post sinks in (Guys guys, we won that skirmish, never mind that your towers are still going to die, you never wanted that Sov4 anyway)

The reason this thread drowned in smack talking from my point of view is because the GBC was concentrating on one infinitely unimportant battle of the evening to make a CAOD post about, while quietly ignoring the fact that this skirmish had no real affect on the outcome of the evening.

tl;dr BoB lied, RISE died.

I don't see it that way. A good fight where 18 ships are killed can make for a nice read, something which is pretty scarce these days. Especially nice is to read about people taking on their enemies whilst heavily outnumbered and still win. It seems that is not what happened, which is why it is "important" to hear a report from both sides. Perhaps, instead of just spamming useless crap for 6 pages, the coalition forces could have countered with their own report at once. That way there would be much less spam, and more discussion about the reports themselves.

That is not what I am saying, and I think you understand that. I am saying that spamming away for 6 pages, adding nothing with any content what so ever, is not making for an interesting nor particularly useful forum. If you want to just spout crap I am sure you have private forums. This is not your personal forum, and you should be aware that a great many people NOT in Goons or in Bob peruse it. I would just like to mention for clarity that the no 5 poster on this thread did not say that the goons lost 18 battleships, he said 18 ships including Pods. In fact the number of battleships lost was stated as 5 battleships.

Still we have to gave BOB credit for running to CAOD with that victory... hang on?

Anyway back to rising from my grave and wandering hungrily through the countryside while BOB fudges numbers...
