Thumbs down Capital Ship Array (More or Less) Today I was informed the Capital Ship Maintenance Array was destroyed by corm members. In my opinion many mistakes were made dealing with this and I want to voice them and discuss them.
Looking back on this I obviously have 20/20 vision, but so far I have heard nobody speak out about this.
First off, all the members of the alliance where given FAIR warning a goon attack was imminent. We were told to move all our valuables to 2-R and to POS's.
The entire time I felt the attack was being downplayed. IMHO very little was done to properly secure for the attack. I know for a fact Eldiablo setup many pos's in 2-R a before we originally thought the attack was going to happen and of course we had our ships moved to POS's and to other stations. Of course once the attack actually happened there was only 3 POS's in 2-R, WTF happened to the rest?
We knew for a fact they would drop pos's in K-9, yet we have few to none on standby ā
As the goons were attacking, they kept putting up POS's. After a few days, they had more POS's in K-9 then us. Once this happened there was very little done by BoB or RMF to destroy the POS's. What did happen obviously wasn't successful. I myself didn't understand much about sovernty and MANY other members of RMF and Corm did not as well. My understanding was sovernty would begin to count backwards from 3 to 2 to 1. Giving us more than enough time to rescue K-9 or do a well planned evacuation.
I only learned hours before that we were going to loss sovernty at downtime and the station would be vulnerable. I immediately got everything I could out of the station, and evacuated my things to JO.
The next day, many members logged on only to find out the station wasn't ours any more. I know a few members of CORM/RMF who still have LOTS of ships left in the station. You guys might say, oh well we told them to move them out. But with people constantly having ships stolen, I don't BLAME THEM for leaving there ships in the station. Many members thought as I did we had more time before we lost it.
There was a Total lack of leadership here. Nobody was properly informed about the impending Sovernty loss. This IS the director's fault. There was one post on the boards about the sovernty lost AFTER it happened.
Not only did everyone who kept ship's in the station loss them all (for now). But the members who actually did as they were told and kept their ship at POS's, Started losing them! Ships have been disappearing RIGHT AND LEFT. Yes Goons have been taking them, But this is a Easy fix, don't set a password at one of the POS's, and let us keep all our ships there. Even if that was not an option, Give some of the older player's access to the ship Maintenance Array, and all members' storage rights, so they can at least keep them in the bay, and then have a trust worthy player eject it for them.
This was another issue that needed to be resolved by A or ALL THE directors. Most members don't have POS rights, or knowledge on how to use it. We can blame spys all day, and each other. But playing the blame game gets us nowhere; we need a FIX for it not more yelling. I don't care how, but we do.
Here's the best part, constantly people have *****ed about the 100% tax or the 20%, or 40%... people for the 100% says we need to help the corp. We need to this and that. That's fine I agree we need to help the corp. I don't nessciarly agree with the 100% tax, but I do agree members need to help there corp in a time of need. So I work had, I donate loot to the corp, Pay my tax's etc.

Edited by: Woobins on 06/10/2007 21:05:27 Then a Mistake by EVERY single director, didn't realize losing sovernty means we can't use POS mods REQUIREING sovernty AKA Capital Ship Maintenance Array. And Yes I blame every single one of you, because it was a director only access, for all the Corp Ships, that the members work so hard to get. And that you guys scream about how we need to work hard for them.
I can understand mistakes are made but a mistake like this is devastating. This isn't ops I forgot to put fuel in a POS. This is an Oh I just Lost 50 Billion (whatever the number is) isk in ships.
I can even take it as far as fine, it's ok, it was a mistake we are all human. I didn't think about it either.
I heard talk on TS, about it, and heard there was a petition that went out asking what we could do about it. Also People talked about if we shot it ALL the ships would come out.
Did anyone actually pursue this petition? Did the GMs Flat out say NO?
Taking the shields down to fire at your own mod, is serious business. At any point in time a goon could have come along and attacked. But that's not what ****es me off about it. What ****es me off about it, WAS THIS DISCUESS between the players, the members of the corp, or even the owners of the ships inside? NO! Somebody just DEICEDED to go and do it, and did it.
Did they do research on what would happen? If me as a member of corm found out that most of the ships would be destroyed. Then I would have voted to leave it alone. We don't know when bob is coming to help us retake K-9. They could suddenly appear tomorrow and start dropping POS's and we regain it next week.
The fact is this decision was a rash decision that cost the CORP MEMBERS a lot. There were way too many mistakes made to lead up to this point if you ask me.
Now if the corp decided this was the best thing to do, and it was a risk worth taking then go for it. But if you ask me those weren't director assets they where my assets, and every other member of the corp assets. We all worked hard for the dreads and carriers and BS's in there.
You guys can ***** and moun about how we need 100% tax or 20% tax or more people doing this or thatā But random people pull mistakes like this that costs the corp billions of isk. It doesn't ******* matter what the tax rate is or how much people help.
It is the DIRECTORS responsibility to Protect, and maintain the corps HARD EARNED assets. I'm not naming names, I'm not ****ed at any one person, I'm not quitting the corp. I just want the directors to take a step back and think, this isn't your personal corp that you can't do whatever the hell you want. A leadership role is there for the members not your own personal goals. You can't ride the backs of the members and expect them to serve you, and follow you to the ends of the earth.
Please PLEASE. Let's all stop making mistakes, and let's look ahead, let's solve the problems, and let's make sure we DON'T make mistakes in the future. Keep the members informed about what's happening, Give them/us CLEAR orders, Stop *****ing about how people need to fight constantly. Let me say one thing about that subject. This game is about having fun, whether you enjoy mining/rating/pvp/trading/whatever. It doesn't matter, making a member do something he doesn't want to do will ultimately make him stop logging in or leave the corp.

Edited by: Woobins on 06/10/2007 21:05:50 Everything that is done in this game will benefit the corp, weather you rat ( generate isk ) , mine ( provide minerals ) , Pvp ( protection ). It ALL HELPS THE CORP. Even during war time, we STILL need Isk, we STILL need minerals, we still need ALL of that just MORE of it. Making every player fight cause doesn't help us. We can't win this war with number, and it's just stupid to try. They out number us 10 to 1 ( if not more ). We are a Rich corp. are strength is not fighting, but Isk. We need the miners mining, we need the ratters rattingā Let them go to empireā Let them do whatever the hell they wanna do. The PvP's they will stay behind, they will fight, the haulers, they will put up the pos's, and the PvPers will protect them. We need isk for the fuel, we need minerals for new ships for the pvper's, we need all of it.
I'm sorry but making the Tax 100% or making EVERYONE fight. Doesn't helpā Sure for BRIEF periods of time it might. But not over the long run. The guys who loved to login this game and just mine, they don't want to pvp, sure they will, but if you keep making them, what happens. They become Poor, and bored. They start to want to mine again BUT THEY CANT the only way they can is to leave the corp, or just to stop playing all together because their fun has been taken away from them. But guys seriously it doesn't matter what they do, it ALL HELPS THE CORP!
I want to stress this though, what's in the past is in the past, and I don't care anymore about what happened, I just want to see people doing SOMETHING about it. I want these issues fixed. So far this war has been very disorganized, I want to see some leadership, and direction for the CORP. I don't care if it's right or wrong we need something pointing us.
Everyone Lets discuss this and see how we can make things better. Thanks for listening to my ventage, ------------------------------------------------------ Bacci Galu
Giving the goons more **** to post on eve-o is not the best of ideas either mate...

As long as we have 1 or more spies I think this is not the best place and moment to write that Klutch. Yes, you have the right to complain, to give your opinion, to criticize directors, members, tactics or whatever as always CoRM has allowed its members to do it and even to encourage them for it. But as said above not here, not now.
I think your post should be moved to directors or even deleted before we will see it in eve forum and have to bear more goon crap.

tl;dr version: Corm lost sov and couldn't access their cap ship array. They blew it up thinking the ships would pour out.
