After logging into the test server I noticed the volume of all T1 modules have been increased in size most modules that were formerly 5m3 are now 50 m3 and rise accordingly dependant on the size of the module. This is overkill surely the problem is not this severe.
This will cause severe logistical problems when either looting or moving stuff to market. Why all of a sudden has this become an issue when its been fine for years. I understand people move stuff vast distances using compression and some of the larger modules needed and have been nerfed. But not everything, a freighter carrying thousands of modules carries the associated risks of being ganked.
An example of how silly this is, a corp mate killed 3 NPC frigs in an ice belt and couldn't carry the loot away.
Please stop this nerf before it ever reaches Tranquility

this isn't a nerf, its a buff, its a buff for miners, its a buff for haulers, and its a buff for the market in general
Originally by: Akita T No, it's a trap ! I can tell from some of the modules and from seeing quite a few traps in my time...

This sounds so overkill. So now if you want actually loot some mods from your kill you have to have hauler alt following you...Well lets hope this is not final and could we at least get a dev blog explaining the CCP reasoning behind this. |

You dont need a dev post explaining it, its already been stated that its to fix the fact that some items compress minerals better than the Rorqual. Its to make our carebear carrier worth it. =) ______________________________ A Request About Lag Discussion -- Yet another "Edit my sig devs!" request \o/ |

These resizings go too far. Ratters, looters, mission-runners all need small module sizes so they don't have to RTB every 3 minutes. If you must change things, make it so that modules reprocess into 95% of what it takes to build them. It won't harm reprocessing that badly, but it will forever end using modules to compress minerals (unless somebody wants to take a fairly sizable hit in transport). ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

IIRC the original plan was to tax all modual refines 25%. This of course was frowned upon. ______________________________ A Request About Lag Discussion -- Yet another "Edit my sig devs!" request \o/ |

Can we confirmation that this nerf (jump portal generator I's specifically) will not occur until the main patch in november, those that currently have some of these dont want a suprise patch and lose out.

I think the worst offenders were already nerfed so they refined into 80% of their mineral requirements (jump portal generators being the big one). ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

No, they currently are the same, they postponed the nerf supposedly until Rev3.

Bad idea Don't 'fix' little issues by making other important aspects of the game worse, please.
I wasn't on the testserver, but the implications of increasing module size are obvious: It screws up looting in pvp and pve, it screws up small shopping trips in small/fast ships, you can't even transport an alternative fitting in your BS anymore I guess, when you are moving that ship.
Don't know if making the game worse just to nerf compression via building/reprocessing is worth it.

Pay more for mins?? Boy are you clueless. This is about logistics, getting mins where you need them without spending extra time.

I'd like to have some info, which modules are affected. If it's only tech-1 standard items, no tech-2 and no named, because those can't be used for ore-compression anyway, it wouldn't be that bad.
