Edited by: Megadon on 19/10/2007 03:32:11 As some have stated it used to be that way with major highways through low sec between the regions and Yulai was Jita back then.
People just stayed in their own regions for the most part or only travelled to Yulai. Each region had some kind of minor trade hub.
They rearranged the map and got rid of the old highways to get people to cross-pollinate the galaxy and de-regionalize space.
There was much screaming and rabble rousing that ensued. Yulai died, Jita is now king and low sec is as worthless as ever which I think is the way it's supposed to be.
Low sec are the badlands. The only people there are transients going elsewhere, intrepid industrialists, or outlaws up to no good. I'm not sure if this is a bad thing. --------------

wel, as an mmo, there's no reason for the situation to stay the same all of the time. if low sec expands and contracts it can only make the game more interesting.

This would likely have the effect of making the Alliances even more powerful (not sure that is a good thing) and keeping people in their relative parts of High Sec ie. Caldari in Caldari Space. With the incoming Factional war I suppose that could be appropraite but I am uncertain if CCP would really welcome encouraging people to stick strictly to their Own Race's Regions for fear that by trying to get into another they would be podded by Pirates along the way. +++++++++++++++ I saw the Sign...!

Edited by: Leya Marcsson on 07/11/2007 11:46:09 The "risk" part of low sec is currently not the problem. There is risk, plenty of pirates roaming around and looking for prey.
The problem of low sec is the "reward". In RL the european kingdoms took the hassel of the exploration and trading with the oversea colonys because there was pleanty of gold, coffee, spice, etc.
No such thing exist in low-sec. Everything in low sec can be aquired either in empire or in 0,0 - and both zones are more profitable, and sometimes even safer than low-sec.
In my opinion the ressources in eve are spreaded to uniformly. Sure there are differences in Ice, Minerals and perhabs Moon Materials (dono about them).
I would purpose to remove most of the medium rare ressources (Omber, Jaspet, etc) from 0,0 and seed them in low sec. I dont say there should be NO Omber in 0,0 or empire, i just mean the largest concentration of Omber should be in low sec only.
Empire: large source of common ressources, minior sources of medium rare ressources, no sources of rare ressources
Low-sec: large source of common ressources, large source of medium rare ressources, no source of rare ressources.
No-sec: large source of common ressources, minior source of medium rare ressources, large source of rare ressources.
