I dont understand why microwarps at high rates of speed dont suffer massive penalites, such as shield drain. If you accelerate a single grain of sand to 12k/second and direct it to hit a 12 inch block of aluminum, it puts a 4inch crater in it. Yet we get ships to extreme speeds with MWDs and the only penalty is lower cap and shields.

1. Its a microWARPdrive. WARP means that it isn't an afterburner--it warps space to speed up the ship instead of using an insane amount of energy to actually move the ship at that rate. Yes, warp drives actually can work and there's physics behind them .
2. There is a HUGE penalty--capacitor use. How long can you keep two MWDs running on a frigate anyway?

Not to mention MWD already have a sheild penalty associated with them _______________________________________________

yes, warp drives work (as far as ive understood it) by "speeding up" time in front of the ship and "slowing it down" behind the ship, or something loll God i gotta change my sig..

I produce a quicker 0 - 60 and DEFINETLY 100/160 (MPH) than a Ferrari with my bike, with nothing more than the *dunk* on my helmet from fly's. I then out speed them with the same magnified effect.... things are designed that way. They are now :-)
As someone else said *its a game* ... relax!
be lucky!
