I for one feel that technology and research has been hampered enough. The Guristas sold those scientists and while the Amarr are allowed by the other empires to practice slavery, which I do not condone, I do detest the fact they are holding those scientists hostage. We need them to foster the growth of technology for all empires! Perhaps political pressure and pressure from Concord is not enough to sway him to free them but pressure from the community may ... any thoughts?

I for one think that the royal family has done a service by taking the scientists away from the pirates. This was also done at a great expence (trillions). If Amarr paid for the technology then they deserve the rewards.
If the other empires wanted the technology then they should have banded to gether and joined their wallets together. And anyway, who was it that abandoned the scientists in the first place... Gallante and Caldari deserve not getting the technology for what they did.

Amarr does what it wants, no one allows the Empire to do anything ;)
Fair trading I think, the Gallente/Caldari abandon the scientists, Amarr buy them back. Ours! :) ----------------------------------------------

Granted the politicians abandoned those poor scientists but it was the public that went to their rescue. When I say all empires I mean all people. I mean a public outcry not an imperial treaty. Although Foritran is negotiating with the Amarr I do not think the negotiations will bear fruit. Those scientists have had enough, at the very least they should just be allowed to go home.

And what are you a small pilot trying to achieve, face it we're nothing but pawns in the eyes of the empires, only few selected will ever get attention of those high ranking people.

What would I do? This is a post to gather public opinion. As I see it this is a free EVE universe and while there are some basic laws our leaders sometimes pay attention to public opinion. If our leaders do not, alot of times Scope probably will. This is mainly a discussion, nothing more. People may or may not agree with the fact that everyone can benefit from the research done there. Also alot of people worked hard at trying to save Crielere even after they were put by the wayside by the Caldari and Gallente political machines. I would imagine that after their hard work they are entitled a small place to express why they risked their expensive equipment to defend Crielere and certainly entitled to an opinion, which not even a King piece on the chessboard can take away. Thus, the creation of this thread. Besides, one pawn in a starting position is nothing, but a few pawns strategicly placed can ruin another player's entire offense. Never underestimate the power of small pieces.

If one buys a candy bar with a dollar, do I not deserve the candy bar. If I wish to share the candy bar, then it is my choice to share it, not someone elses choice, my choice.
Therefore, the emperor's son paid for his candy bar, let him choose whether he wants to share it.

Blame not the Amarr people, but rather blame your own. You foolheartedly abandoned these scientists to the likes of the Guristas.
The heir took it upon himself to negotiate the retrieval of these abandoned individuals. At an enormouse cost to himself at that.
Now you wish to denounce their rescuer and claim him as the wrong doer? I pity your people and their supposed justice. Perhaps if you wish to have your scientists back, you should pay the heir trillions of isk.
Till then hide behind your weak words and ideology, because that is all you can do. A war with the empire will only serve to enslave your race. But then at least, there will finally be peace as you will know your place!

You speak of human beings as candy bars it is your race I pity. You have paid Trillions of ISK for the technology and by now you should have that technology. Those scientists, after the technology is given over to the Amarr empire should be released. Indentured servitude and slavery have been abandoned as an ineffective tool from most empires. I wonder how well the scientists will think on Vitoc? I hope they make alot of mistakes. Wouldn't it suck if those scientists rebelled and released an antidote for Vitoc? Holding people against their will eventually fails and it will fail for you.

The prince has made a deal now, so everyone should be happy. The location is somewher in the Kor Azor region and is probably why the servers are down for a short time.
Kor Azor should be very busy for a while...

Edited by: Haratu on 26/02/2004 12:56:24 "candy" refers to the technology, not the scientists, all the players in the news (pirates, gallante, caldari, amarr) have been after the technology, not the scientists... I suspect most players care more about the technology as well.
I can not afford paying for new tech, so I am merely a bystander making comments that happen to be true to the way the scientists are being treated.
In answer... NO, I am not an idiot.

I say let the Amarrians keep the scientists and then maybe I'll get something from my Amarrian R&D agent! Articio the heir is a spineless jellyfish, a mud grubbing worm... I wouldn't mourn his death shall it occur anytime soon
Sex0r > you're bounty turns me on.. you seem like the kind of amarrian to dominate me

Make no mistakes I care about the technology too. But my main concern was for the scientists to be released after the information was taken from them. I am glad that Kor-Azor has decided to let them go. I am curious to hear what the Gallente president's intentions for them are however. I am hopeing that they are not in the same boat as they were before :/. I do not think they are but the Gallente's intentions for the scientists have yet to be announced other than they "rescued" them.

Interestingly enough, the scientists are still in Amarrian space, the tech is free though. One question: what was freed? the scientists, or their ideas.
