So i was reading some threads about navy BS's and their prices.. and i started to wonder, is it worth hogging the LP for a navy BS or would it be better to spend them on other stuff? (imps and ammo/missiles)
Any ideas?
Reason i'm asking is that i am close to the 500k point mark again and wondering if i should get the ship or get other stuff, also i would prolly sell it of cuz i have no practical use for a navy BS except as e-peen (i wouldn't use it for missions and would definitly not fly it into pvp hehehe  )

Dont even think about it!! 600k lp's and market value of the Thron is sub 500k isk and once the Marauders arrive, anyone with that much isk to spend will be waiting for a Kronus.
Hardwiring implants and faction ammo are your best bet unless you are wieghed down with Navy tags, then perhaps you could dig out some faction BPC's or modules.
I aim for 2k per lp profit on anything I buy.

It depends. I haven't seen a single Navy Megathron on the contracts for at least a week. That tells me that if you want to sell one, you can easily get a reasonable rate of return for it. No one will be underselling you at the moment, and there must be someone out there who wants one. Someone else will want it for e-peen, or because it is a very fun and effective mission-running ship. In my opinion, the market glut that occurred after the LP store first opened is unlikely to occur again. I am very glad that I bought my Navy Megathron, which I use for missions, when the prices were at an all time low. I think it is very likely that faction battleships will earn you a good rate of return on your LP in the future.
As for alternatives, if you have the tags, you can get some sweet faction gear. Of course, it took me three months of solid level 4 missions to do anything useful involving tags.
As for the Marauders, the faction battleships will be much more accessible to players with less than a year's SP, and maybe less expensive to boot, so I don't really see Marauders being serious competition for the faction battleship market. Marauders look to me like they are designed for capital-qualified pilots to rat in 0.0.

Marauders should sell for less than 350 mil ISK not long after Rev 3 starts.
However, I really would advise against any <8 mil SP pilot trying to fly it.
I mean, heck, it's around 6 mil SP in ship-specific prerequisite skills only.
Add some minor weapon and other non-prerequisite support/fitting skills, a bit of learnings, and you're up to 10 mil SP in a heartbeat.
On the flipside, a 2-mil SP alt could fit and fly a navy BS with moderate performance levels.
Now, tell me, how many of you have T2 launchers instead of Arbalest, eh ?
And how much does an Arbalest launcher cost compared to a T2 ?
See where this is going ?

The OP was asking if taking the Navy Thron and selling it was a good use of Lp's, Unless the price doubles to 1 Bill then it will be impossible to match the return from implants and Ammo.

Indeed, and i got my answer, unless i want to use it just to enlarge my e-peen it's not worth the effort, seeing how i'm not planning on using it to run missions or anything else but show it of perhaps, using the points for other items (which i have been doing up till now) is more isk for the point.
