So it looks like M.E. datacores are spiking in price. Perhaps people are hoarding them in anticipation of rev 3 invention oppurtunities. I made a bundle myself last night cashing in on 2.25 mil buy orders. What do the movers and shakers of the EvE markets think though? Is it time to dump one's datacores and cash in? Or will prices edge up even higher? -------------------

Depends on ship bonuses on those new ships. If they are as good as people like to believe they will be then datacore price might climb somewhat more before patch. If not then well ... depends if there is anything else in smaller ships section for what people are willing to pay premium for.
Until that it's still gamble tho.

4 mil right after patch isn't far-fetched either. But it will drop under 3 mil in a couple of weeks, under 2 mil in a couple of months, with 1.2-1.4 mil or so long-term.
Well, unless CCP decides it's time to slash datacore RP prices even more (they slashed them from 500 to 50 RP, they might go down to 25, 20 or even 10 RP per). _

I expect to see a pause in the price rise this w/e, perhaps even a slight fall as some researchers take profits at the new price level and flood the market with more datacores from accumulated datacores. This will fuel more stockpiling by for Rev 3 which I expect to keep upward pressure on the price until the patch.
I expect Mech. Eng. datacores to peak north of 4.5m because even at that price level it's still cost effective to invent Hulks with modest invention & industrial skills.
The new Rev 3 ships could push prices past that level, however I don't believe so. The Rev 3 ships are going to be more specialist for specific purpose not simply more uber. They won't be CNR killers. I expect to see some form of Command/Flag battleship and some form of covert ops battleship.

You really don't know if they'll be the new favorite mission ship until their full stats are released, which hasn't happened yet.

Well, the Gollem can't possibly be "less good" as a plain vanilla Raven, that's a given. You wouldn't have the ship existing in the first place if it would be worse. And since a CNR is not that much better as a normal Raven... ...well, do the math. _

You, sir, seem unfamiliar with the Khanid line as originally designed! (and maintained for, what, 2+ years?)

Well, they finally sort of "fixed" them eventually, didn't they ? I mean, they weren't THAT horrible before (well, ok, Sac was probably the least useful of all HACs, overall), now they're quite nice (I'd say Sac is definitely in the top areas now). As for the new ones, I hope they have a little more common sense from the get-go, not years-delayed. _

I wouldn't trust most of what these pirates are saying as they most likely stand to gain from higher datacore prices. What I can tell you is that there isn't much currently worth inventing at even 2.3 million isk for datacores, I suspect most inventors have or are about to shut down until either ship prices increase or datacore prices drop.

This statement is true. There is nothing or nearly nothing that uses mechanical engineering datacores that is worth inventing at current prices. The datacore prices need to come down or the ship/module prices need to go up.

Actually the point he's making is that module and ship prices will go up. They have absolutely have to in the face of the price increases. Some people are going to be able to maintain the lower invention, and build costs, that existed last week. But many will not. Does this mean those who can invent cheaper will go cheaper? Hell no. They will raise prices to what everyone else is having to sell out to break even. Perhaps be under that by 0.01 isk. So the actual next domino is to buy up existing stock of those t2 products that are most vulnerable to sharply rising Mech Engineering prices. Especially those that are sharply undervalued. Well, actually the next domino would be the bpc's on contract that are undervalued I guess. But there is going to be a domino effect. I'm going to enjoy watching where it goes.

I was waiting to see how long it'd take before someone caught wind and spelled it out for the rest of the community. Turned out, not long at all. I forgot to take into account the powers of zee almighty forum warriors. A mistake I shall not make again
So, what Shar is trying to say is... speculate and buy up ALL T2 PRODUCTS and BUY BUY BUY!. TIME IS IN SHORT SUPPLY! BUY NOW! My wallet awaits your over-exuberant ISK

There is that risk as well. Never make your purchases because of forum chatter. However don't fail to start researching forum chatter for your own gain either. Originally by: Amicus Pauperi So when do you sleep man?
Some nights are better than others. Some nights are like this one: a parishioner loses a family member, one might be in the hospital, or even one that just needs someone to talk to on the phone. {shrugs} I can be considerate but equally I can be just as harsh as I am here for people seeking guidance. Here I just assume everyone needs a swift kick in the bum. Law of averages is on my side.

But all this is really dependent on whether the Datacore increase is REAL (ie, producer driven and thus more permanent) or if the increase is ARTIFICIAL (ie, market manipulated).
