WOW I thought at one stage that I might be getting too old for this game at 41 but hell it looks like I am only just getting ready to begin
I guess the adverage age on EVE is what makes it the game it is apart from the actual game play it's self.
What about a minimum age requirement of 19?

So far, unless I missed one, oldest actually posting here is 75 and youngest 14.
Amusing to see the Character pics of the youngsters, battle hardened Caldari vets with the owner 16 hehe. My pic actually looks much younger than me.

57. Interesting thing about gamers is they don't stop gaming as they get older.
I grew up reading science fiction. A character doing what I do every night, playing in a virtual reality with people from around the world, would have BEEN science fiction then. I'm living in the future and loving it.

Very true. 39 here. Started gaming 25 years ago (TI 99-A4) and haven't stopped since them.

The group I play with is called 30Plus. At 33 I'm one of the younger ones.
I wonder if the average age in Eve really is as high as this thread suggests, or if all the posters so far are goofing off at work while the youngsters are stuck in school.

ONLY if the Battleship has the left turn signal stuck on the entire time you are flying it - AND - it goes 33% slower than everyone else around you. :)
29 here... :) I love feeling young in an MMO - sure beats most of the main stream experiences I have had... love the difference it really makes in this game. :)

Just turned 40 on Oct. 4th.
I would like to see what professions the player base covers.
I am a semi-retired software architect. I do mostly consulting from home now which allows me to play way too much EVE.

I'm not surprised to see so many older players, really. Console games and computer games (not to mention tabletop "nerd" games like D&D) started becoming commercially viable when people around my age were kids, and there is really no reason why people our age should stop playing. Granted there are work and family commitments, but that didn't stop previous generations from bowling, playing golf, or joining the ELKs, and that shouldn't stop us from enjoying our past time. It's not like there's some clock that says: You're 30 now, put down the keyboard and that beer, your martini and golf clubs are waiting for you.
And yeah, according to CCP, the average age of the player base (or the account holders) is 27.

I thought that American years were slower than rest of world years leading isolated populations to beleive it is still the early 1900's....
