Just curious on this one, seeing as EVE appeals mainly to students,I wonder how much of the player base is 30 and over.
I`m 34 (tommorow) and I know some devs are (or at least look) older than I am, I hope i`m not in a minority here 
Who is our oldest residents, anyone 60+ ?

I'm 23 and by far one of the youngest members of my (mains) corp and even alliance. I think I only heard of one other guy in our alliance that is under 20.
But I'm used to being one of the younger people.. if I go to a concert of any of my favorite bands then I'm also always one of the "kids". |

im not old enough to qualify. however the oldest person i know in real life (in other words who i believe his age) that plays eve is turning 50 next year.
i've been recruiting like crazy at work especially among the geeky programmers but they are all loath to start playing a computer game.

Eve is great because I'm talking to people twice my age, and theres no sort of age stigma at all. Everyone is equal in the cyberspaces of the internets.
I'll grant you that SOME younger players are annoying! But then again, so are SOME of the older ones too!

This is one of the things I like about this game. The player-base is generally older and more mature(?) than other MMOs. Most players are in their 20s or older.
Nothing against kids, but after playing games where the average age is like 14 and noone can spell or use grammar, it's nice to play with other adults. :)

WOW I thought at one stage that I might be getting too old for this game at 41 but hell it looks like I am only just getting ready to begin
I guess the adverage age on EVE is what makes it the game it is apart from the actual game play it's self.
What about a minimum age requirement of 19?

The group I play with is called 30Plus. At 33 I'm one of the younger ones.
I wonder if the average age in Eve really is as high as this thread suggests, or if all the posters so far are goofing off at work while the youngsters are stuck in school.

I'm not surprised to see so many older players, really. Console games and computer games (not to mention tabletop "nerd" games like D&D) started becoming commercially viable when people around my age were kids, and there is really no reason why people our age should stop playing. Granted there are work and family commitments, but that didn't stop previous generations from bowling, playing golf, or joining the ELKs, and that shouldn't stop us from enjoying our past time. It's not like there's some clock that says: You're 30 now, put down the keyboard and that beer, your martini and golf clubs are waiting for you.
And yeah, according to CCP, the average age of the player base (or the account holders) is 27.

I always knew we had an older playerbase in EVE than in games like WoW, but damn am I feeling like a child next to all these 30-50 year olds.
Oldest player I've ever met was a 51 year old back when I was trialing in 2004, mining in a belt in the FedNavy starter system.
Youngest player was a 14 year old fleet commander, who, despite his age, certainly had my respect and obedience on the battlefield... he knew his stuff and had been playing for 2-3 years.
In my corp, the oldest player is a 36 year old Belgian fella, and our youngest member is a 20 year old Canadian, if I discount our probationary 15 year old. I'm only a few days older than the Canuck, so I'm having second thoughts about firing the probie now ... bring the average down a little.
