M.Pire has had a long history with the Band of Brothers alliance.
When the entirety of Eve was against BoB, we stayed blue.
When we went south to help them in their fight against their enemies, we stayed blue.
When we lost our space against their enemies in the North, we stayed blue.
When we went south to relocate and help them fight against their enemies, they wanted to charge us 6 Billion isk / Corp to live in their space and fight for them.
Wait, what?
See you in space.

Maybe they shoulldn't have started mining and npcing in delve without asking the alliance owning said space.
Maybe Tomcatt was lying to me when i talked to him about this just this sunday/monday. And then actually proceeded to have a conversation with Goons about possibly joining the coalition the same day. Yes that last one really helped your situation.
If there's 1 thing i regret, is actually not setting you to negative becus we felt the actions of STK shouldn't affect the whole of Mpire alliance.
I be seeing you velios. 2nd time now. tsk tsk

Good retort btw.
yes it does. I've played this game with you guys before, remember? All i have to do is hammer it over and over and over again and pretty soon it's truth, huh...
By the way, you still Fail. Go get Rebellion, your forum-fu is pathetic to 15 orders of magnitude.

Nothing really, just not for long term allies to treat us like we were some joe schmoo on a 10 day trial trying to figure out how to get out of Kisogo.
Quote: Seriously you give up in the north all of a sudden(without even losing a station btw) and by the next day nearly you show up and start mining in delve of all places.
Considering you weren't there in the middle of what we were dealing with, I don't think you've got any room to speak down to us on leaving allies high and dry.
Quote: You leave your allies in the north hanging and expect us to reward you for it.
So. We come down south to help you guys shoot your enemies, after locking horns with the entirety of the north on your behalf for months. We didn't expect any rewards, just the ability to make isk to replace losses, which is a completely normal thing unless you have somebody that can spawn isk for you or something.
Quote: Nah, that costs 6 bill a month no matter how you look at it(its just 6 bill btw, not per corp at all)
Maybe that's normal but that isn't what was brought to us.
Quote: Now I was quite happy for you guys to move down and shoot stuff up with us. I was quite happy for you guys to take a little chunk of space for yourselves(your own space, no rent no oversight no interference from us) once you'd put the work in as most of us were. But your guys seem to think that it should all be handed to you on a plate.
We have been putting in work as you so put it for a hellofa long time now in the interests of friendship with you guys. The statement you just made completely contradicts what your leadership presented us. Would have, could have, should have.
Now all of a sudden you want to come on the forums and claim that if we would have stuck it out with you we would have earned our own space, or whatever.
Quote:
The fact that your directors found out that they wouldn't be handed whatever they wanted meant that they decided to run and have a chat with sesfan(Yeah we got the logs).
Of course we did. We did the intelligent thing for our alliance, which was to look at all possibilities and make an informed decision for the good of our members.
Quote: Now i got no hard feelings about that. You do whats best for your alliances and your corps but you can't claim the omg loyalty card here.
POT > KETTLE > BLACK
Where was your loyalty to us? Many of us looked beyond old anger and put our alliance ahead of personal remembrances... and then you guys showed everyone just what you thought of us.
Quote: Bottom line is that you were out for yourselves here. There was never any loyalty to either us or even MC, the guys who set you up in the north. You bailed on fatal and cow, knowing that they couldn't hold the area on their own, without even having to try and defend one of your stations and you ran down south expecting to be welcomed with open arms by one side or the other.
This is quite possibly the most ludicrous thing I've ever seen considering everything I have experienced since joining M.Pire.
Quote: You were an honest guy when you were in bnc mate. Hell even in ascn you were the man in their leadership that was spending his time helping his alliance instead of trying to demonise us. Now is not the time to buck the trend of a lifetime.
Which is what I am doing now.
I will continue to call it as I see it.

Edited by: Gungankllr on 11/10/2007 11:32:02 I can confirm that last week prior to all this I turned down a Goon offer based on us wanting to remain loyal to BoB.

This is a pretty interesting post in that it more or less confirms BoB's story. The Goons bought you out, and your price for switching sides was 6 bil a month. I have complete understanding for looking after your own alliance first, but this thread has all been about trying to lay the blame on BoB. The fact is that you turned away from your long term allies because of 6 bil a month.
Note that you don't know what it will cost you to live in Goon territory in the long run.
I always liked M.Pire, and I thought you did a great job holding us off in the north, but this turncoat deal as tarnished you. Of course the coalition will jump on this, claiming you're not turncoats and that you have "seen the light", but as you yourself have admitted here, you turned on your allies because of isk. Well done.
You clearly do not understand what the entire issue at hand is.

I think it is hilarious that 95% of the Eve public understands and agrees with our decision.
The other 5% are alts, and now generate 95% of the posts.

Not that we all aren't enjoying the circus that this thread has now become with everyone's alts (No idea to this day why people think their alts carry more weight than their mains) but I believe that this thread has served its purpose.
Time to lock the thread, mods.

If it's just M.Pire, I don't see any backdoor violation happening soon.
If it's others and M.Pire is just along for the ride, then I don't see what the significance of M.Pire is at all.

I wasn't in STK during the ASCN thing, so all I know is what I heard.
Tem is probably best suited to talk about that.
As for "changing sides quietly" or whatever, we just wanted to make sure everybody knew how we felt and what we were doing, and why.
This forum isn't just for alt spam, it's for announcements like this to let the eve public know what your politics/alignment are.

While I'm waiting for the moderators to lock this like I asked 3-4 days ago I'll take a moment to respond to Avon.
We've already explained what happened throughout this thread several times.
The following is MY view of events, and my opinions, so if you can bear it please consider them not the official view of my corporation of alliance.
After we got kicked out of branch, we wanted to come south to fight with you guys and MC, because we figured that you guys were pretty much the only allies we had other than a couple of northern alliances.
I don't know what level of management in BoB you hold Avon, but I would hope that they gave you a sense of logistics in warfare since you've been there for a while now.
In any conflict unless your members have a self-sustaining wallet, they need someplace to get off the lines to make isk and replace ships otherwise they go broke and people stop showing up.
That's pretty much standard across eve, I think we can agree on that.
So anyhow, I was talking to Seleene and a couple of the directors in MC about getting an office down south near the combat zone someplace so I could get my guys working on replenishing their wallets before jumping back into a big war.
The branch fight left a lot of our guys broke, because they were out there on the lines fighting and not making isk to replace their losses, so as a result many of them had less than double digit million isk in their wallets.
Seleene said he was going to try and free us up an office in (H74??) and I said super, it's close enough to the lines for us to be of help.
A couple of days go by, and while we haven't heard anything from Seleene I ask one of my guys to go look around for an empty office somewhere in an allied station.
He finds empty office slots in FWST, which is only 10 jumps from the front lines in Delve.
We're blue, we're allies, so we tell him to go ahead and rent it so at least we have a logistics jump off point to fight from while we are waiting for an office in H74 to open up.
Anyhow, we start moving people South from empire to get into the fight, and about that time I guess somebody shot an NPC without permission from BoB. Onoes.
I was at work for the next few days, but apparently STK is some uber evil corporation for shooting an NPC without permission after pulling out of a war that cost us just about everything to fight against the allies of our enemies.
At the same time, FAT fell and BoB makes some grandiose post about it, but as far as I can tell they hadn't been involved in the actual work for it until the end? (Correct me if I'm wrong)
So anyhow, I get to my days off from work and I log back in and hear that BoB removed docking rights, and wanted to charge us 6 bill / isk / month / corp.
Maybe there was a miscommunication somewhere but that was the number I was told. Anyhow, nobody in M.Pire could believe that BoB wanted to charge us anything to come south and fight against their enemies. We weren't coming there to rat in some corner thinking only of ourselves, we were ramping up to go right into the teeth of BoB's and MC's enemies.
Anyhow, about this time we were so ****ed off we started looking at the offers that had been coming in over the past week.
BoB and MC found out that we had been talking to Goons, and then all of a sudden they wanted to work things out (at least MC did, I never talked personally to anyone in BoB)
The day (emo wednesday) we were supposed to have the TS meeting we had a paradigm shift in our thinking as to our relationship with BoB.
They didn't think of us as true allies or friends, so why should we bother with them anymore? I have nothing but absolute respect for MC, but 95% of Eve seens MC = BoB, and we wanted to distance ourselves from that for now.
We are doing our own thing now, we're not fighting for anybody but ourselves.
Again, MY point of view. Velios had other reasons, but those are mine.

Pretty much just you, considering almost the entire Eve community has come out in support of M. Pire's decision.
Show me the figures.
Just read the whole thread.
There's a pretty good representation of the eve community here, I think.
Granted some of them are biased, like Goons.
Then again, most everybody in Eve doesn't like you guys, so I guess they are all biased too.

Wait, CAOD is a good representation of the entire Eve community? Now *that* is funny. Seriously.
It is, at best, a rather poor representation of but a minority of the Eve community; but honestly it probably isn't even as important as that.
I dunno, if you're worried about the noob corpers hanging out in Kisogo not having a voice here, then there's not much I can do for you.
The people who post in this forum for the most part, are those that are living in 0.0 and having the epic back and forth battles and whatnot.
Yes, there's a large portion of players that live in empire and you don't hear their voice, because this forum focuses on what is happening in 0.0 for the most part.
I'm not saying the guys in empire don't matter, I'm just saying they don't have a whole lot to talk about in CAOD, because they don't take or lose space, and I don't see a lot of epic empire fleet battles.
if you're wanting to count them as a cross section of the eve community feel free, but let's be realistic that there is a very good chance they are just spectators and have never had any real contact with BoB or Goons or whoever except for what they read here...
