Maybe they'd leave if you gave them the option to take their stuff and go. I'm sure some of them would like to still have ships.

I think the resulting station firesales of any trapped assets will make them enough ISK to buy ships in Jita. They didn't want to haul their stuff out anyways. --- lol signatures |

It's about damn time. Been hearing about it for so long we were getting worried it wasn't gonna happen. Picture was alright, somewhat anticlimactic after all the hype though.

It's about damn time, you guys had better steamroll 'em. -------------------------------- Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would non |

Damn, with all the hate from the goons over the past couple months you'd think it was them getting "crushed to dust". Respect for being successful in this little campaign in the video game of EVE, much less respect for the hate.
Honestly it makes it look like you guys really need this "victory" that much. If this is what does it for you though, good on you I guess.

Originally by: Ivor Gunn Maybe you should convo RISE. They might be willing to switch sides.
We did this. Space was immediately lost. We looked to pieces of RISE who were willing to listen to reason. They asked for help. We sent it to them, and they were able to hold their space. They now own 2 stations and pay no rent, their obligation is to have fun, and not support BoB. They join numerous other alliances and corps that once paid rent to an entity that offered hollow protection.
Those that offer a hand of friendship to the coalition get a handshake, those that prefer to support the paper tiget that is BoB get a fast trip back to empire. Some of the BoB pets are allowed to move deeper into the space the coalition will be in soon, at 6B per corp, per system.
Think about what you want to do. Fly with the past, or join the future.
Think about what side you want to be on, do you want to be a pet, or a pilot?
Don't let your employment history make your character obsolete. If you like to rat, you can, if you like to build, you can, if you like to fight, you can.
The old model is subjugation and rent. The new model is freedom and self-respect. Think about it, and pick a side.

Your future is "freedom", where your employment history can make your character "obsolete"?
Asking for rent to occupy their space sounds a lot less dictatorial than trying to banish another players character from ever enjoying 0.0 life again and making them "obsolete".
I don't necessarily support BoB's "space renting" format for allies, but so far the hour of ratting/hauling a month has been worth it to fly alongside game friends. I never joined RISE for the purpose of being "protected" by BoB, as such their absence has not outraged me at all. The elements of threat, disrespect, and my theoretical "obligations" do a disservice to achieving the surface apparent goal of alliance conversion in your post.
Basically BoB's space renting model is not ideal, but it sounds like what you are presenting is also not ideal. Which is the lesser of two evils is obviously up for debate.
Why would you actively try and recruit people opportunistic enough to turn against fellow allies and friends (not necessarily the "hated" BoB) when the heat is turned up? Seems to me like poor recruiting practices altogether.
Also I play this game for fun, not self-respect, hopefully people don't garner their self respect primarily through their actions in a virtual world.

Are you honestly still having fun where you are? Paying an absentee protector so you can act as a meatshield doesn't seem to be much fun from my point of view, especially when you have the honour of 'pep' talks and are perceived as nothing more than peons.
I feel sorry that you guys can't and couldn't see an alternative to this and I in no way mean to belittle you or your alliance when I say this but your decisions have been bad ones. Goonswarm never cared that you wanted to shoot us, it was always about the banner under which you chose to do it.
I hope that in the future you can take the examples of some of the other entities out there and try an reclaim some dignity and self respect when all this is said and done.
