Funny you bring this up: after some petitions from cult of cthtihglutlu guy and a bunch of other nubs we were told by GM sw00sh last night that it IS an exploit. Were threatened with banning if we continued. They don't mind when you do it, though?

Did u lose your ship too?
Was in p3 once and 3 of us engaged 1 megathron not nice ods for him but he had his drones out and attacked a scorp and cuz of that he couldent jump :-) ..

really???, omg, thats a new one on me, hate to say, but we get alot of kills by tanking sentry guns. surelly they cant say its an exploit to do this, as u are still getting shot at.

We feel the same way. I don't think anyone has received an official warning and we can't get a GM to say that we're actually exploiting, just a lot of "well in my opinion you are exploiting".
Contact us in-game to help build a pro-tanking-the-sentry-guns front, 'cause if 55km ganking is OK this has to be.

pooti, thats just stupid man. they must like folks ganking from 65k..
surely hitting from 65k is more of an exploit than shield tanking sentry guns.. least we are being hit ..
ill wait and see how this works out, i wont b happy to get a message from the GM.

I have talked to atleast 3 GM's about it when we were doing this and it's all legit! the only problem is ppl dont see the sentry's shooting cos they are already shooting when they enter the grid hence dont see them shooting.. urr its complicated.

Somewhere floating out there is a developer stating: Tank the sentry guns.
I can't find it anymore but I distinctly remember being told that when question how piracy is supposed to take place with sentry guns being operational.

Tanking the sentries is a lot of fun, requires good team play and co-ordination and shouldn't be an exploit IMO.
Just make sure your teamspeak is working before doing it. Last time we used it I was "screaming jumpin , jump- in on ts for about 3 mins" before i realised my jack had come out. My raven got away smoking with about 40% struct left but we got the kill.
