Hello guys, I have couple question but don't really know should I put it here or in skill board. Currently, this is the skill I have for gunnery
Control burst 2 Gunnery 5 Motion prediction 3 Sharp shooter 2 Small hybrid turret (1 day from 5) Trajectory analysis 1 weapon upgrade 1 Currently i am flying a vexor with 4 150 Scout accelerator rail guns with Tungsten charge. My questions are:
1) Currently i am shooting at 20k, what skill and equipment do I need to increase my optimal range? Does it even worth it to increase on the optimal range? This is for mission and in gang PvP So i don't have to worry about web and scramb
2) My current damage is low, What other skill should I focus in beside from the one I listed above? Also, from what I have read in this forum, 95% of all fight PvP are up close and personal, so my rail guns are zhit? Should focus in Blaster instead?
Here are my vexor set up
High: 4 - 150 scout accelerator rail guns 1 - Drone argument link
Mid: Name AB (at work, forgot the name) X5 web Missing link cap recharger
Low: some name medium rep damage control I EANM I Nano reactive membrane I
Drones: Hammerhead I (5)
With this set up, i PvP decent with other Vexor and some cruiser with same birthdate with me. Can you guys help me to be more effective?
Thank you so much in advance. -------------------------------

1) Train Medium Hybrids and put some Dual 150mm guns on the boat. Should give you ~10km of optimal in ~30 minutes of training. Then train Weapon Upgrades, Electronics, and Engineering. This will give you more PG/CPU for fitting 200mm or 250mm on that Vexor.
2) Since you are in a Vexor, the best way to improve damage is to work on drone skills. Get Drone Interfacing to level 4. Drones work for both close and long range engagements.
3) For PVP, add a Cap Booster in the mids and fit Blasters instead of Rails. Approach your target (don't orbit) and blast the hell out of em. Don't forget to use your drones!

Thank you so much for your reply Tikamon, however, i have a question regard the stated above. If I approach and not orbit, then my transverse speed is zhit and i'll blew up before i get there, no? Sorry to ask such noob question -------------------------------

Other gunnery skills you should definitely get are Rapid Firing and Surgical Strike.
Like Tikamon said though, if your in a Vexor drone skills will help out a lot.

At 20km, yes. But once you are 250m away from your opponent, even their smallest manuever translates into a large angular velocity. The high damage and tracking of the blaster gives you an overwhelming advantage.

Thank you Tikanom for clearing that up for me. Now, as for the blaster, should I train for small blaster or medium blaster? -------------------------------

You need to train small blaster spec to get to medium blaster spec. You want to fit Tech II medium blasters on that ship. ------------

Dual railguns have absolutely no range advantage whatsoever over single railguns, their base damage is only a shred higher, they use more expensive ammo, they're tougher to fit, and their tracking's a joke. Why do you recommend them then? ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

Oops, good catch. I didn't know if his fitting skills would work for the larger rails yet, so I quoted 150s. Irregardless, the damage improvement in ranged combat justifies the expense.
