Now I'm a lazy man, and I realized after starting to compile information to make a complete listing of bpo information in a spreadsheet, that somebody may have beaten me to the punch. My idea was to create something in Excel that would list the name of the bpo, what group it falls under in the market, where it is sold (caldari, gallente, etc), what the npc price is. In addition, I'd intended to add in the length of time for PE and ME, a row for entering in the PE and ME of owned bpo's, calculations for how long it'd take to research it to those levels, copying information, effectively, anything and everything my limited Excel skills can throw in.
Before I spend bored hours on the train on this, is there anybody who's already done something similar that can save me the time, so that I can just read a book instead?

If there is such a thing I would love to see it. I have made spread sheets of BPOs I owned, and if it helps I can give you those to start with. If memory serves I have about 100 BPOs in a list that's about a year old (maybe two).
I am fairly good with some semi-advanced stuff in Excel, so I'd be willing to offer some help getting the functions done. I just have no desire to enter all the raw data. Please resize image to a maximum of 400 x 120, not exceeding 24000 bytes, ty - Cortes

I have two hours a day on the train, where I normally sit around and make up excuses not to work on term papers, so I'm willing to do some raw data entry, but my Excel skills are..subpar. I'm sure with time I could wing it, and work out something..I'm good enough at picking these things up, but right now, my start is really pretty crude. I'll keep an eye on the forums for a bit..I've seen some things close, but nothing quite like what I want :)

There is one floating around from pre rev 2.3 time. It was done by using data dump. I don't have link to it tho but it should not be impossible to find.

Well, I've got work fully along way. I'm more then a bit of a newb...Data dump? What is that, and can it possibly save me the time of manually finding all of the information by flying around? I need the stats on all of the bpo's, as well as where they sell and npc price.

data dump is database export. it's usually done for each major patch and available for download somewhere.

You got to find a way to convert the SQL-Stuff into a format you can work with.
Easiest way would be to install an Apache-Webserver with PHP and MySQL support on your computer, and then use PHPMyAdmin and the MySQL Dump on the above page and write it into your local MySQL DB with PHPMyAdmin. You can then use PHPMyAdmin to export the Data you need into Excel-CSV so you can use it in Excel.
The official SQL Datadump made by CCP might work with MSAccess, but dunno I stopped working with Access after Access2000. --

I got an Excel Spreadsheet with every T1 item ,cap ships, outposts etc, including T2 comps but mine is using the actually ME numbers off what BPO's I own and some are off market for ones I don't. Been building it up since '03 and its not something I like to share but contact me ingame and I'll see what we can work out.
As a side comment, I always thought a database would serve this better, but never got around to it.

They have a number of excel/openoffice spreadsheets, just don't have a rig one yet.

ihave a sheet that i am currently using but its seperated into the bpo's that my corp owns along with soem pos info and a reference page that you can plug in all the values for minerals, t2 materials, pos materials, pos fuels etc and it filters through all of the pages. i saw one a few days ago that was posted here that used vbscript in excel to grab the mineral/ component prices off the eve site, but it was way off on the costs to manufacture etc and very complicated to use. i would also be more than happy to do some raw data entry to get one of these spreadsheets up and running.

Thanks for the tips, although the data dump is definitely over my head. I may look into something better then an Excel spreadsheet. I know a programmer or two I may be able to hassle into helping me along the right direction. As far as the various personal spreadsheets go...I'd love to have that part of the work already done, but I want to start with something blank, so that anybody can use it without much work. I may just end up putting every detail of the bpo in too...research times, manufacturing times, skills, what it costs to make it...Depends on how lazy I get.
