i have a theory. but first i have to ask you something...
master chief is that guy that appeared in the end of the halo 1 demo and told me to buy the game, right?
if thats the case, its a clear win for gordon freeman, because he has been to more than 5 rooms and a marketing campaign over and over again.
therefore he has more experience.
now... if you would throw the warthog into the equation... lemme think... nah... good ole gordon just needs a crowbar to pwn everybody and their alien invaders.

Oh dear god no.
Never, ever have these discussions. Ever.
Rabid fans from both sides will appear and flame each other without logical reason.
However, from a logical, neutral point of view:
- Master Chief is a cyborg super-soldier bred and trained solely for combat.
- Gordon Freeman is a scientist, who somehow is able to use weapons and survive where others cannot.
- Master Chief has an annoying AI friend that sits in his head to help him, as well as some generic and rather useless soldiers, and other characters you couldn't give two ****s about.
- Gordon Freeman has the GMan, several generic soldiers, and a lot of other awesomely done characters to help him.
In a straight up fight, Master Chief is going to win every time simply because he is trained to do it. But I'd still like to point out that I'm a big HL fan, and never really liked Halo at all.

Keep in mind though Gordon has the entire free nation of Xen to support him with their portal technology, and the G-man with 'mixed' interested, at the evry least to keep him alive anyway.

Yes but that really isn't a "straight up fight" is it. If you include people like the GMan and the silly aliens, then it gets complicated. I still don't think Gordon would win, he just probably wouldn't lose, because he'd keep running away. Assuming they do anything at all.
Either that or he might be able to actually pick Master Chief up with the gravity gun and throw him off a cliff. But there is no guarantee that would work.

Master Chief comes with his noobish cheap regeneration shield and faces ridiculously stupid AI while having having a computer assist his targeting. All the hype around his 'bred solely for combat' is just a myth hidden behind his fugly suit. If you'd see him without the helmet you'd notice he actually works at fast food on the side and dropped out of Community College.
Gordon however controls the powers of physics. No one can beat physics.

Clearly Freeman.. If you can save the world, twice, beat the US army AND an alien invasion not to mention invading THEIR world and taking that over single handedly in just the first part. Then almost do the same thing again in the second..beating COMBINE and all their hitech gear, robots and what not in a full game PLUS two following episodes.
I see no limits for the third.. It must be instawin for gordon.

Gordon Freeman has a crowbar and managed to thwart an alien invasion, pwn the US army, go to another dimension to kill this budah-like giant floating living candle, then kill hundreds of Combine, including thos freakin' tri-pods who I so dearly hate, this while going into ravenholm where noone goes now, where you meet a crazy priest and xenomorph-like zombies wich are a pain in the ass to kill (FREAKIN' SHOTGUNS YEAH!), and in the end create a cataclysmic KA-PLAW!
All this with a crowbar.
...well, not likely, but you can do the game with nearly just that.

This is true. I think it will lead to master chief killing Gordon, then the GMan revives him as usual.
Basically the chief will kill freeman over and over and over and over and over again.
Also, Gordon was found dead in STALKER.

I throw this back at you by stating I have never played Half Life - ergo Halo wins by default.
Make them have a fisty fight on the moon and Cheif would win - Gordon dosen't have a helmet hehehe...
