hi, new to eve and wanted to know, how do you manually control your ship? (strafe, turning, and..speed (with keys)) is fighting really only limited to targeting, clicking the fire button, and watching what happens???

EvE is generally a point and click game but in PvP battles it can be very important to "manually" fly your ship by double clicking in space in the direction you need to go to keep up (or down) thing's like transversal and radial velocties. Those values effect the to-hit calculations of your turrets. Manually flying your spaceship will give you a large advantage over those who just hit "orbit at" and try to fight that way.

The servers would crash and burn if anything more interactive was implemented - there are over 35,000 people online at the same time on Sundays, and anything more interactive would cause incredible lag.
If you pare away the GUI, you will realise that EVE is really a browser game - just with pretty graphics. -- I like cheese. |
