Evening all. I was seeking imput as to what is considered the best racial BS for POS warfare. Seems to me Amarr would be good as they have good range and do not require ammunition for thier Lasers. Thanks for the inputs.

Best BS for pos shooting is raven. Can vary damage type, and no cap, and great damage.
For anything else pvp, its the worse BS.. so don't waste too much SP on it...

Raven for damage types.
Geddon for not needing to reload. (And damage output)

Have to echo what other people have said. The Geddon is awesome in the fact that the dmg output is very high, and it uses no ammo.

You need some sort of remoting there unless you want to get ganked by pos. And thus you also have cap(well usually :P)
Oh and yes, amarr would pwn if most poses would not be actually minmatar

Stay clear of pos defences, and one of the highest damage dealers there is, sub capital, especially at higher ranges.

Fleet fitted Tempest loaded with Fusion L and then Mega Beam Geddon/Apoc (due to no reload, but they do run out of cap at a given moment), though I only fly the Tempest. All the rail ships run out of cap very fast if firing all guns. For example a 8*425mm t2 Rokh can barely fire 4 guns with Thorium L.
The Raven is nice too, but even cruise missiles are inefficient in fleet fights. Inevitably, when you shoot a POS in BS, there's a fleet fight around the corner, but that's another discussion.

Tip on Geddon POS Warfare etiquette:
Sort your cap skills/setup before showing up at the POS, so you don't have to start begging the gang for all their 800 booster charges. Your mates need them for tanking. And don't brag afterwards that your Geddon doesn't use ammo.

This setup for a POS-shooting Abaddon might work fairly well.
7x Megapulse II (dunno if beams are preferred, in that case, find a way to shoehorn on some tachyons)
Large remote rep
4x Cap Recharger II
Suitcase II
T2 explosive armor hardener
1,600mm RT plate
4x Heat Sink II
3x CCC Is
3x T1 sentry drones.
Oh, and if your cap skills aren't up to scratch, consider flying a Domi fitted with a cloak and a bunch of sentry drones in the drone bay (and if necessary in cargo) so that you can deploy them by your gangmates, cloak, they scoop your now-inactive drones, and repeat. They will appreciate the addition to their DPS.

Actually you can fit rail dominix with 6x 350mm rails and cap rechargers to never run out of cap. Such domi with t2 sentries and sentry rigs will do something about 800 dps, if I remember right, on 0% resists. But still probably raven is better mainly do to be able choose a damage type and with the upcoming changes on sisi it also will do some very significant (best out of all BSs?) dps there...

Tach (modulated w ti ammo) Abbadon. Couple cap rigs, plates no cap issues, constant stream of damage and no reloading leaving you free to watch that movie on the other screen, rat/min with and alt, read a book. Occasionally the pos may shoot you, if this causes too much distraction adjust the fitting to allow the med repper to run 24/7.
This (pricey - only down side here) ship has made station and system sieges so much easier.

Apoc works pretty well, but since there's no other reason to fly one the Geddon is probably a more realistic choice.

i actually take an armor reping pvp like fit to kill poses, drop the web and scram for tracking comps.
7 dual heavy pulse II (multi)
2x tracking comps
cap booster
LARII
EANM II
knt hard II
exp hard II
2 1600 Rolled Tungsten
2 Heat Sink II
2 Energy collision accelerators.
all in all about 18k armor and with a load of sentry drones it does about 500 dps after resists.
once the guns are down i drop the EANM and 2 plates in favor of cap things (- shield boost ones), which flies cap stable for hours
